We would say ignore the debt collector letters and sit tight.
So I should be okay to do this even despite the appeal on the same day to the debt collection company? If EMH Homes is the managing agents then they are lying, they are perfectly capable of instructing the parking company to cancel this. You might want to write to them pointing this out, and warning them that if their parking agent is foolish enough to attempt to bring a court case against you then you will be demanding full disclosure of the contract (if any) authorising them to operate on the land, and if necessary you will demand the presence of EMH Homes in court as a witness.
Would you recommend Emailing EMH with something to this effect? Obviously I'm trying not to get on the wrong side of anyone involved. I guess it it's still worth sending this Email even with the plan of ignoring letters from debt collector's as they are separate companies?
Will post back in a couple of hours with an update about my tenancy agreement.0 -

We don't have a crystal ball, but we recommend never responding to a debt collection companyWould you recommend Emailing EMH with something to this effect? I never recommend emailing anyone. When it comes to legal matters email is a frivolous way of communicating, paper and ink is the way to do it (and with so many people spraying out emails to get deleted or filed under "Junk", I believe companies really sit up and take notice when they get a proper, old-school letter. It bespeaks an interlocutor who is deadly serious and had better be listened to).
But yes, it is always worth having a go at the pillocks who hire the parking scum. Ultimately they are responsible for the actions of their agent.0 -
You are just in the same boat everyone use to be in before any appeals existed from 2012. We all used to ignore these debt collector threatograms and encouraged assertive landowner complaints about the scam.
No-one here PAID or thought the [STRIKE]discount[/STRIKE] bribe £50 was some sort of bargain to rush to pay! No-one cares about Debt Recovery threatograms!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for the further updates everyone.
I have just checked my tenancy agreement and there isn't anything in it regarding parking.0 -
Well I've decided not to take them up on their generous £50 offer but I've just found a letter sent on 26th Jan by EMHhomes regarding Parking Enforcement with the following paragraph:"We have decided to extend your parking permit for another four months, whilst we review this scheme. County Parking have confirmed that your permits expire on 31st January 2016, but they will allow them to be used on your scheme until 31st May 2016. You do not need to take any action. Please display your permit as usual."
I'm being hopeful maybe, but does this mean anything for me given that my parking ticket was issued on 3rd March?0 -

I've lived here since August last year, so approximately 7 months now. Not sure how long the PPC has been operating on the site, is there any way I can find this out?0 -

The signs were there before I moved in yes - they've definitely been operating here longer than I've lived here.
The permit was given to me by the letting agent. It just gets passed from tennant to tennant via the letting agent. It does have the landlord's car reg on it rather than mine although this has never been an issue.0
