I recently purchased a new OLED TV from Littlewoods from a friends account
after 1 day of use I noticed some dead pixels on the screen (17 in total)
I asked my friend to request a replacement TV as this was faulty
he quickly called me back and asked it I still had the box (which I did not as it was a massive box for a 55" TV)
he told me that Littlewoods would not arrange a replacement without the packaging?
He gave Littlewoods authorisation for me to speak with them regarding the matter but they will not let me discuss it with them.
I am now paying £44 per week for a faulty TV all I want is a replacement for my £2000 faulty product !!

The contract is between littlewoods and your friend since they are the ones that bought it in Littlewoods eyes. I don't blame them for not speaking to you - why not get your friend to arrange the collection?0

Most TV screens are built with a tolerance of a number of dead / stuck pixels, and for class 2 screens that are used in virtually all domestic products it is something like 2 dead pixels per million. Your TV should have around 9 million pixels, so it is within those tolerances.
Having said that most manufacturers will have their own tighter tolerances, and you (or rather your friend) had the right to reject the set, but by distroying the packaging so hastily it could be argued that you have accepted the TV.
With care you may be able to fix some of them.

As above, it's not your contract-your friend will have to deal with Littlewoods on your behalf, be it under SOGA or the manufacturer's warrantyNo free lunch, and no free laptop0

When was the thing delivered?
The Consumer Rights Act allows the consumer up to thirty days to reject the goods if it is faulty.
You, or rather, your friend, may have difficulty convincing Littlewoods that the television is actually faulty.0 -
finally got some sense from Littlewoods today
they basically told me I had to order a new TV and then return the faulty one
ok by me as its currently £300 cheaper
as for dead pixel tolerance
a 1080 OLED has just over 2 million pixels 1080 x 1920 = 2,073,600
so 17 dead ones in a cluster are not acceptable0 -
If you bought the TV at John Lewis its £700 cheaper than Littlewoods and you get a 5year warranty :shocked::shocked:

Is that the same tv OP? If so that's an insane difference, surely you're not spending £700 more just to get credit? :eek:0

JL are selling the LG 55EG910V at £1699.00, so 'only' £300 cheaper than Littlewoods' current price.
Not that it matters too much... the OP appears not to have even noticed any of the earlier replies.0 -

Wow! For that sort of price I rather assumed it was a 4K box.0
