    Hi Amara

I really enjoyed the last challenge and would like to join this one. I have one little request if possible. I have been following the Dave Ramsey baby steps and I'm still on stage one, funding a £1000 emergency fund. I have been on this site for so many years but its the main area I have neglected. I feel that this is another debt, a debt to myself. I have challenged myself to get this sorted by the end of may.

So while still paying on my normal debts I would like to make this my challenge to pay off this debt to myself and then move on to another.

    I need to pay £832.

    Thanks Amara

Hi Parsniphead, I am a Dave Ramsey fan and have been listening to him for years. I just completed my £1000 emergency fund and understand the need to have a buffer.

Great to get going on this next chapter. I just got started on paying down on my overdraft so paid £1,400 this week.

    £1400/£4,171.

I am going to try my best to stay focused over the challenge and not to cop out.

My first payment towards this challenge is £141.61. I have £55 cashback due in my account in the next day or two which I can't wait to add. Hopefully I can achieve this target and start on a card debt before the end.

    141.61/832 17.02%

Good luck everyone and thanks Amara.

I used to be a regular lurker a few years ago and then stopped. Have reappeared as would love to clear my debt this year and found this a hugely motivating site.

I would like to join this challenge. My aim is to clear off a credit card with £2510 on it. Also motivating me is that its interest free at present but will start accruing interest in July 2016.

  • My payment that I'm cwtching away towards my total is £40.

I've decided that I'm putting this money (until I can pay off the debt in one go) into premium bonds - the debt is at 0% so it's not going to incur interest and I don't want the creditor to assume I can always overpay...and of course there's the off chance I might win something!

Of course I can't buy less than £100 worth of premium bonds so I've got a target within a target
  • Not a bad start...
