DNA test (off shelf)

Options
Which one is recommended?

Are they accurate?

want to test myself and baby secretly. My girlfriend would leave me if I took one so? Just would like to know, I don't think she cheated, just would like to know 100%

Where is a trusted internet site where you can get a good one? I know boots do one, but think online ones are cheaper?

As you are contributing support, then you may as well get it doen officially, I don't know about self home kits, but it would still involve a sample from the mother too.
Or you could get it done for 'free' on the JK show.

the cheaper the kit, the lower the % outcome. So...you could end up with a result that says the child is 80% yours, as opposed to 99.9% when using the court approved services. This is because they analyse far fewer strands of DNA and is called a 'peace of mind' test. If 80% is good enough for you, use one of these off the shelf kits.

If not, the CSA/CMS use Cellmark. If your relationship breaks down and you need to involve the CMS and/or the courts, you will need a test from a source such as Cellmark. They are far more expensive - although cheaper if you use them through the CMS.

From a different point, if you are secretly testing your baby to ensure your the father, are you sure you should be in this relationship,

Why do you feel the need to take the test if you don't think your gf cheated?!

Young babies generally show a marked resemblance to the father, so a test is unlikely to be needed unless you need definite evidence...

Remember, neither the CSA nor CMS nor indeed any European agency accept the results generated by JK's agency as they're not accurate enough.

Interesting having a quick look at that.
Whoever said the more you pay the more accurate you can expect the results to be ............ I would have thought that.
But according to the reviews on Mojisolas link it doesn't always seem to be true.

I see it differently given the final sentence in the OP's post on that thread.

The major content I read suggests she is a bully (not the 1st won't be the last)
he wrote "(Would like to note that we are together, but girlfriend doesn't treat me great I suspect because she knows she has baby and that gives her the upper hand in our relationship!) Before he was born she was always scared I would leave her and was much nicer."

From my seat partners should be nice all the time and more so after offspring arrive.
