How to add an infant to an existing Aer Lingus booking

Hi
I have booked aer lingus flights for a family holiday this summer however I have found out I'm Pregnant and the baby is due 2 weeks before we were due to depart. I can change the accommodation to later in the summer and wanted to change the flights, the charges are shocking but I booked a low cost flight so that's to be expected, however Aer Lingus are saying that they will not add the new baby to the existing booking, they say I have to cancel and adult seat and rebook a full price adult seat and add the infant.
Has anyone else had any experience with this or any advice on how to get around it?
Please help
Thank you

from here http://classic.aerlingus.com/help/help/planningbooking/
it says
Customers who wish to add an infant to an existing booking should contact your local Aer Lingus office and we will arrange to take payment and issue a ticket for your baby.
so it seems strange that they say it cannot be done0
