When do you pay for your ebay purchases?

I always pay immediately, but if the auction is ending later in the evening. It will be next morning around 7am(if I won of course), never left it later than 24 hours.0

BIN I pay on the spot.
With auctions - I pay as quick as I can. Once got a really irate message sent 5 hours after the auction ended at 3am and didn't pay until I got home from work that night. I had logged on at work to pay at about 9.30 am - but the tone of the email made me hold off as they'd peed me off.
Stashbuster - 2014 98/100 - 2015 175/200 - 2016 501 / 500 2017 - 200 / 500 2018 3 / 500

I seem to have slipped into a mode where I haven't bought anything at auction for a while. Loads of BINs though. My local Argos must be getting sick of me and there's stuff waiting for me there now.
Back on topic: For me paying is one part of a single cickstream of select, purchase, pay.0 -
I made an offer on something at 12.30am the other day, I was surprised to see it accepted immediately and I paid straight away.
It was posted next day(well the same day!)0 -
I'm amazed that so many people pay immediately - unless all these people only ever go for BINs, rather than auctions? It isn't uncommon for me to be at work or out for the evening when an item ends. I pay as soon as practicable afterwards, always within 24 hours.0

AND AGAIN!!!!
Someone won an auction, and 2 days later they still haven't paid!! I am hoping that it is perhaos pay day today, so they were waiting until they got paid and will pay this evening.
It is only on clothes auctions that I am having this issue!
My auction said 3 day dispatch, but if they dont pay until this evening, then it won't get dispatched until Tuesday as it is a bank holiday weekend. Would that count as 4 days, or is it 3 working days??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
chap in Australia bought a small motorcycle item ,
but he hasn't paid so I opened an Unpaid Item case to get my fees back. This morning I received this:
Hey guys, I emailed you immediately when I accidentally pressed purchase on this item.. It's not what I needed or wanted and I accidentally pressed purchase, can you please be reasonable and withdraw your unpaid item
Kind regards
Tobi
So I replied:
Hi Tobi,
I'm sorry but I cannot do that. Once a 'Non Payment' case has been opened you have 10 days to pay for your item. If after 10 days the item still remains unpaid then due process takes place and e-bay will automatically close the case so then I will receive all my e-bay fees back and e-bay will put a 'Non Payment' marker against your account. For your information this is the first correspondence I have received from you since you hit the 'Buy It Now' button which even you have to admit is most odd?
Don't worry about the Non Payment marker though. It's not as serious as they make it sounds. It's not like e-bay will come around then deport you and your family off to a land were everything you see or touch wants to bite, poison or kill you
Have a nice weekend
Kind Regards

For your information- the unpaid case can be closed after 4 days- not 10 and if you have set up unpaid assistant I would strongly suggest you change it to 4 days. The quicker you can get these closed the better.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There used to be some Ebay stats, I can't remember exactly but along the lines of 90% pay in the first hour, 98% in 24 hours, 99% in 48 hours, the rest either don't pay or pay any time in 5 days.
I think that's pretty accurate
Normally, my auctions end on a Saturday afternoon, and the majority pay that afternoon, and the rest pay that evening or Sunday morning.
I accept that people are out and about at the weekend and normally the stragglers pay around 9am on Monday morning ( probably when they've got to work). After that, if they haven't paid, it's more than likely they aren't going to.
Personally, I pay BIN's immediately. With auctions, if I'm at the computer when the auction ends I'll pay as soon as the auction ends. Otherwise, if I'm at home, I'll pay as soon as convenient, normally within the hour. If I'm out, I'll pay when I get home.Early retired - 18th December 2014
