Ceiling Rose - To install or not to install

We got a big decorative one, it was polystyrene with a plaster skim over it so was light and easy to put up with glue but all you saw was the plaster, just like an old one. Was reduced in a DIY store in Devon.0

We love period homes and if we were purchasing one, the absence of a ceiling rose would not be a deal breaker.
If we loved the house, we'd buy it without and then source an original piece if possible or take photos of the one in the bedroom and see if it can be replicated.
Buyers like to see original features so I cannot see that a cheap polystyrene one would make any difference to a sale.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
