Fibre Broadband

Up to 38mbps is just the product type. Just like for regular broadband is often marketed as up to 17mbps. It's not until you put your telephone number into a suppliers checker will you get a personalised speed estimate.
Find the suppliers with the cheapest offerings (usually sky, BT, plusnet) and hen check out top cashback/quidco. BT often offer around £150 to switch your landline and broadband (and upgrade to fibre) connection to them.0 -
Which company are you considering if you think Plusnet are expensive?0

I am not considering any particular ISP at the moment because the whole process seems a minefield.
Plusnet offered 6 months free but £14.99 a month after that so £90 plus line rental in the first year.
Sky and Talktalk are offering free fibre bb in the first year plus line rental and with cashback I could most probably make a profit with some of the others for the first year! Trouble is some of them are 12 month contracts and some are 18 months.
Price is not the only criteria though. Reliability and customer service count for just as much although I have not bad experiences with Talktalk and most people here think they are not very good and have a few horrendous experiences to back it up.0 -
The Plusnet estimate should be good enough, as you'll be on the same copper wire from the street cab regardless.
TT are invariably cheapest, but CS is dire, Sky are much better but getting expensive. PN are always cheaper than BT, so your target pricing may be unrealistic.
This assumes that both TT and Sky are available LLU on your exchange. Since broadband is exchange specific, no can advise a universal 'best supplier'. Do the maths for the minimum contract term and make your choice. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
