How to build an Affiliate Marketing site? which hosting package to use?

As the title says: do you know of a site/ online resource / book that teaches a legitimate way to build an affiliate site from the ground up?. I’d prefer a site/ online resource / book that walks me through from start to finish if possible and not something that teaches black hat tricks that will get my site penalized in the long run

Thinking of using Vidahost for web hosting, but if you have any other suggestions for inexpensive hosting I’d like to hear them. Looking for something ultra cheap for now (I can always upgrade if I get lots of traffic I reckon)

Thank you

Make some content first? No point wasting time if you dont get any traffic in the first place.

What will your website be about? Checked the competition? Can you actually compete and be better?

You'll find guides written by snake oil salesmen selling redundant techniques from yesteryear. Most working affiliate techniques are insider secrets and won't really make the info public because the more people there are pushing affiliate campaigns the more expensive and diminutive the schemes become.

Watch the asda womble scheme collapse as every top !!!! and Harry starts scouring asda for discarded receipts making slim picking. When the asda car park cleaners get knowledge of this it's game over

They're there 6 hours at a time and will pick up receipts immediately they are discarded

Affiliate schemes are pretty hard to manage, a lot of them were as a result of trying various different techniques and landing on gems by accident. I've been involved in online marketing for 3 years and honed a few skills. Can't point to any resource nowzi think affiliate marketing in is dead, building a site to make someone else rich is a fools game. Due to cost of getting traffic most people will try and make their own product or list and remarket to the subscriber base.

I make most of my money through weekly newsletters to my list of 30,000 email subscribers. I get the subs in from people who download a manual which is sought after and easily ranks on Google. To get the manual they need to enter their email and name

I've researched a niche using keyword tools online, yes I should have a good chance of making a good authority site. Obviously you can never be %100 sure.

It will be a niche within the technology for kids market

yeah that's exactly my fear as I've also only found dubious guides online. Still, if anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it

How does one make money from newsletter? you actually sell the products you recommend in them?

Before you think of making money get the site active, going back a good few years it was easy to get traffic to your site.

Even when i had webspace on AOL, i found links to my site/pages all over the place and it took on from there.

Web rings got even more traffic, like minded people put a link to a few other similar sites and then the better ones started getting contacted by companies related to the hobbies.

But i think it got far too saturated and sites started appearing with a bit of data until they got a sponsor then it stagnated.

Then youtube started where that left off. With the right youtube channel you can make a reasonable sum. Not from youtube money alone though you need sponsors and freebies..

Selling the products yourself may involve capital to purchase the goods and hope they do sell and not leave you with a skip full of junk that nobody wants.

Sending customers to a sponsor company for a small commission is better when starting out. You drive nobody to them then you lose nothing.

If you have to ask this question then you haven't looked into this enough.

That's exactly what I want to do, is there anywhere that teaches you how to do this properly?

You can knock up an affiliate website with Wordpress even using links of Woocommerce.

To be honest you'll be fighting an up hill battle, the days of making money via Affiliate Marketing are long gone.

You are competing against cashback, voucher sites and big sites that hover up the traffic. Google killed rankings on AM sites back in 2011. You can see the trend below for searches for Affiliate Window to see how the air has gone out of AM.
    https://www.google.co.uk/trends/explore#q=affiliate%20window

Affiliate Window is the best place to start if you want to proceed though.

Get a bargain shared hosting plan for £5-£10 per year and start building your Wordpress offering.

The best thing is to go niche if you want to succeed.
