Interesting how good-samaritan is replying for robin-hood1…0

Who cares? Are they doing something which is against forum protocol? Still provided useful information0

Thanks. In return for the useful information, I have so far been accused of -
1. bumping posts to secretly charge fees.
2. making up false facts and claims.
3. giving consumers false hope.
4. being a fake that must not be fed with reply posts.
And I have only been on here for just over 24 hours. In those 24 hours, I have seen posts from many users who are giving advice to others about how to run complex financial claims. In some cases the advice is correct, in others I see that the advice is incomplete, confused or just plain wrong. If consumers are acting on this advice and either not making claims that are actually viable or are having claims delayed or rejected inappropriately then I think this damages your forum.
I am all for shared experience and knowledge to empower consumers to go DIY, but PPI is not one size fits all - some claims are easy (High Street Banks and BS's) but others are very complex (pre-2005, brokered or sold via chains of agencies). This is the point I was trying to make.
I think I will bow out now and take my leave - it has not been a very welcoming experience when all I wanted to do is offer a few helping hands. Why do you all post your comments on here - to help others I presume with no financial reward? Moneyineptitude has posted over 15,000 !!! So you are doing exactly what I tried to do. When you do it 15,000 times it is OK and you are a good person - when I do it 3 or 4 times I get slated and told to sling my hook. Confused.com !!0 -

Using sockpuppets to support your view and posting under multiple user names to back yourself up is poor form really.
Robin-Hood1 made a few posts and then offered to help people if they PM him/her (which is always suspicious, the advice should be posted for all to see so anything dodgy can be flagged), there is a fair chance one person has created 2 (or even 3) accounts to some end or other and has been posting "interesting" advice since then - once post count gets to a certain level they can then send/receive PMs which would allow, for example, a claims company to tout for business under the guise of assisting via PMSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Please can you paste the post which "offered to help people if they PM him/her". You will not be able to do this because it did not happen. RH stated that if consumers posted questions on the forum, he would reply with help if he could - is that not what the forum is for and what you are all doing? You can read exactly what was written because the new thread created is still there called FAILED PPI CLAIMS - Try Again. Where is there any mention of PM's and secret commercials??
You have also just called sun73 a "sockpuppet" despite this user making 237 posts. I think that makes them a genuine and valued user. All this user did was thank me for a useful piece of information!
At what stage and after how many useful posts does a user become acceptable to you guys. This is becoming very damaging to your forum if you operate a protective closed shop to discourage any other user from saying anything useful. Yes be cautious, Yes be wary but do not be hostile to a new user just because they do actually have something useful to contribute.
If I have broken any forum rules then report me and slate me as much as you like - I would deserve it. But so far all I have done is the same as you have all done tens of thousands of times - posted some useful information to help others.0 -

Yes you did, Just because you have managed to edit that post, doesn't alter the fact that some of us remember what it said. Don't lie.good-samaritan wrote: »...RH stated that if consumers posted questions on the forum, he would reply with help if he could - is that not what the forum is for and what you are all doing? ....
Yes, exactly, this is a forum where people frequently post questions in the expectation of receiving answers. It is therefore utterly pointless for some bod to pop along and say 'ask me questions'.good-samaritan wrote: »...You have also just called sun73 a "sockpuppet" despite this user making 237 posts....
No you're the sockpuppet. It really is very, very, obvious. You have not done a good job in hiding it.
You clearly have an agenda. I don't know what it is. But it is all a bit suspicious.0 -
robin-hood1 said on post below
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/70348403#Comment_70348403If you post the store name, I will tell you which Insurer to send your claim to. Yes I do this for a living.
They then created a new topic stating:robin-hood1 wrote: »If anybody has tried and failed to make a PPI Claim- even if the firm rejected it as 'pre-regulation' or 'out of jurisdiction' - please post the details and Robin Hood will try to point you in a new direction to obtain redress.
A little helping hand can go a long way to getting back what was wrongly taken from you.
Suggests they work for a claims firm
I also particularly likerobin-hood1 wrote: »There are many reasons people do good deeds - in my case money is not one of them. Is it so hard to believe that Good Samaritans do exist?
Then the user "good-samaritan" was created the same day and started posting claiming to know robin-hood1 (I'll bet they know him, I bet also they use the same machine and look the same)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

OMG - Now this is getting really crazy - if I edit a post it leaves an audit trail message below the post - see my post above at 3.01PM how it says "Last edited by". If my post does not have this message then I did not edit it unless I have found a way to secretly hack the site? So to call me a liar when your own site proves I did not do what you are accusing me of is quite amazing.
Do you actually realise how paranoid this sounds - "You clearly have an agenda. I don't know what it is. But it is all a bit suspicious."
This is not international espionage and I am not James Bond - it's just a PPI chat room. You guys are either deluded with your own self-importance or just annoyed that anybody else can possibly have anything useful to say - you must find it very threatening to behave like this. I feel like a pack of wolves is circling me - all I did was make a useful comment!0 -
If I am a sockpuppet, I'll take it as a compliment, sounds quite soft and cuddly. Rather that than an old cynic.
However, more to the point, Robin Hood/Good Samaritan is correct about the position of Next Directory PPI complaints being handled by Phoenix.0
