RBS and NatWest to Split ?

LBG wasn't forced to change all Scottish branches to BOS; it chose to. 3 quiet Halifax branches wouldn't make if worthwhile Scotland underwriting a sizeable chunk of the (English) property market.Halifax started opening Scot branches after they were forced to change the current Scot footprint to BOS branches, think its 2 or 3 branches so far. I have a Reward A/C with the Edinburgh branch which I dont live near to or Glasgow the other/s, I cant recall if they opened the second Glasgow branch as planned. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi, Sorry just to clarify what I heard was a Spilt apart of RBS and NatWest and nothing to do with the RBS Branch sale to W&G.
But it may all just be pure speculation and rumour,0 -

They were cornered on turning Lloyds TSB Scotland branches to TSB. Pretty much a requirement of the European competition authorities.
They didn't change any Lloyds TSB branches to BOS as far as I'm aware.0 -

UK law is Great Britain legislation so yes that would be British, just like UK/British legislation governs HMRC Tax Collection & 'welfare' which will be passed to Scotland's legislation system - Scottish law, which is the foundation of the whole of the UK (British) ie England & then Commonwealth Law when Great BRITAIN was a empireSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
I hope it happens to be honest, RBS is too big.
Its current retail footprint doesnt make it a monopoly on the high st UK wide.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

Correct...and then to offload it, Halifax, BOS, Lloyds TSB were split and merged made into into 2 banks in Scotland with a requirement to offhive one in Scotland as it was a government funded monopoly, the footprint LBG had in Scotland was a massive retail banking monopoly, we lost most our standalone building societies
up here and its competition.
Up north (the real north Southerners) Halifax all changed to BOS, Lloyds branches became Trustee Savings Bank (Scotland) again in logo at least, Halifax and Lloyds became English banks.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... That was a LBG decision, and probably one of the worst things they ever did considering the popularity of Halifax and its products in Scotland.0 -

Reward A/C alone, thing is opening online asks you to pick a branch so I assume a English branch may be selected.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies...
