Been exhausted last 2 weeks, I have had a minor flood in my kitchen somehow the washing machine which was plumbed in for over 6 months and double checked by my father 3 months ago wasn't attached as tight as it should, and yet it must of been as my father has been good at diy for decades and even able to repair washing machines! So its strange unless the vibration of the drum has moved it slightly, anyway.
Then I went to relatives to look after their dog for a few days, beautiful dog but meant I was out of comfort zone, in a small single bed, in beautiful countryside but nothing to do and just my laptop for entertainment.
Then I came back and started feeling groggy, and Monday-Thursday this week especially I feel exhausted, I assumed it was just the few days away catching up with me but on Wednesday had the sweats all day and until yesterday my head was away with fairies and felt drunk all time, today recovered enough to go out but on a awkward situation.
Friend is giving me a few items of nice furniture but he lives 2 hours away by train (not that far actually just slow trains) and I have his key as he has already moved out I just need to go to his, and pack a few small things (his computer and bedding) but it means 2 hour train journey (not including about 30 minutes travel to train station and 20 from train station to his house, then wait for man with van then same back, I could of stayed overnight there but the day after I am going on 3 days holiday I booked forgetting about this (else would of made the holiday following week, and moved friends stuff next week)
So I am meant to get 24 hours notice but with the 3 hour journey both ways by train (only £14 return and man with van £35 so worth it for furniture) its a great deal but with me also going on holiday the following day means I will be rushed about, I could in theory stay at friends Sunday night when the man with van arrives and go straight on holiday Monday but I wanted to go back to mine first as theres a few items that would be heavy to carry by hand.
Sorry for bit of essay just exhausted.
EDIT : Meant kitchen, and reworded a little to make it clearer too.0 -
Crikey deka you have been busy! I do agree though that the furniture is too good a deal to pass up, hassle now but I'm sure you will be pleased in the future.
Where is your holiday to? I hope you will be able to relax on it!0 -
Had a strange experience about a hour ago, heard my veranda gate going and thought I was a bit crazy as why would it go at that time so slowly stood up and put dressing gown on and walked to window (like 4 feet from chair) just managed to catch a view of a guy in a tracksuit jumping my fence, and my clothes that are pegged to my verandah knocked over onto grass.
Can't tell if it was someone playing a prank (if so why just knock over a pair of clothes) or someone looking for somewhere to rob as my curtains had a gap in them which I peg closed at night.
What is the most worrying is tomorrow is when I am going away for 4 days so worried I may get burgled when I go away!0 -
Oh Deka what an unpleasant thing
Are you friendly with your neighbours? Can you mention it to them and ask them to keep an eye on your place while you're away?
Yesterday was a mixed bag for me. I was very stressed as there was a family gathering and my siblings were attending who I haven't seen or spoken to since a family fall out 6 years ago. I was dreading it and getting emotional, and I told me dad I refused to go while my sister was there but as she would be leaving early I'd come then. So I went and saw my brother and his family, and actually it was manageable and we were politely friendly
Also a super creepy thing happened it the morning
I was at the shops and DH was in a different aisle, when someone stood close to me an knocked my arm. I assumed it was an accident but when I turned my head this guy was standing uncomfortably close and staring over his glasses right at me. I thought for a moment "Oh God do I know you and you're waiting for me to say something?" (It was that kind of look he was giving me) but after an intense few seconds of studying his face while kept looking at me I realised I didn't know him at all and suddenly it felt like some weird come on...ewww..
Naturally I then beat a fast retreat and scuttled off to DH, then stuck to him like glue :rotfl: He does irritate me though because I told him what had just happened and all he said was "Yeah you do get weirdos" If someone had done that to DD when I was shopping with her I certainly would have wanted her to point him out just so I could give him a disapproving stare
Quiet here again, hugs to anyone needing them x0 -

Yes, neighbours and/or, have a word with the Police. Tell them what you saw, and that you'll be away for a few days and are concerned. They won't mind at all, I assure you, and it may be useful info for them.
Plus, have you any lights on timers? It's always worth having a cheap timer to turn on/off a lamp in the living room, and then in the bedroom, and if you have a radio with a timer, set that too, or buy a timer for that as well.
That's what I do. If an intruder sees a light or hears music/talking, he's far less likely to bother.(I just lurve spiders!)

Still here and reading. Very busy at work, very unmotivated to do much at home at the moment. Need to give myself a boot up the jacksie as the state of the house is making me feel worse.
Hope everyone is ok.
May have some Gitdog agility pictures to post in due course if I can anonymise them. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Well the moving thing is a bust, the big name company was meant to give 24 hours notice for a Saturday-Monday flexible booking, they keep telling me theres some hold up and it may not be done by tomorrow.
But of course I can pay an extra £60 and get a on the spot driver.
I have already forked out £35 which was cheap (had £5 loyalty discount on that hence cheapness)
But its not that, its the 2 hour journey I need to do to get there as said before, and considering instead of 24 hours notice I may get 2 or 3 hours I may have to rush out of the door ready and still barely make it.
Which still may of been tolerable if not for fact tomorrow meant to be on holiday so I don't want to spent 3 hours travelling down, 30 minutes packing, 2 hours to destination if they don't turn up till 6pm at night as means I lost a days holiday!0 -
Calley,
I love swimming, granted i hate being in a swimsuit (i'm a size 20 and have scars on my arms and legs) but once get in that pool sod everyone else. There are people there of all shapes and sizes and honestly nobody cares. I pay very little attention to how others look, i'm just there to swim. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Mr JM showed me the spot *just outside our bedroom window* where someone has broken tiles by standing on the extension roof and looking in. Fortunately we have a new, and very secure, window!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
