Here we can all be heard for a little while. Part 3

There used to be ADD - Attention Deficiency Disorder and ADHD - Attention Deficient Hyperactivity Disorder.
However, as everyone benefited from the same treatments, some bright spark realised/decided that all ADD and ADHD diagnosed people are on the same spectrum.
So we're all ADHD now. ADHD-PH (Primarily Hyperactive), ADHD-PI (Primarily Inattentive) (the new term for ADD) and ADHD-C (Combined). Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
What does the PI bit stand for?
Predominantly Inattentive.
You've got the predominantly Hyperactive type, the PI, and then the Combined type, if the categories are still the same as when I was first diagnosed.
Edit..... crossed post with Gingernutty.
That's ADHD for you - jumping in before someone's finished! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Yeah. Predominantly. Not primarily. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0

It's the hyperactive type that comes to mind when people think of ADHD, isn't it? You learn something new in here all the time.
Are you good shocked or not sure shocked, if that makes sense? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

On the one hand, it was kinda/sorta expected. On the other hand this is big, life-changing stuff.
Kinda relieved and sorta trepidatious. I know they're not proper words, btw.
I'm hoping, once the referrals and tests are done, this can be sorted quickly.
I have no idea what's going to happen, if the drugs will work, what happens if they do or what happens if they don't. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
They even gave examples of people with the combined type.
wil.i.am, Keith Lemon were two.
I said I couldn't watch them as they annoyed me. :rotfl::huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Your made up words make perfect sense.
Do they look at medication first or are there other strategies that can be learned for people who don't like taking tablets? Just curious about adult treatment as opposed to that for children - tell me to go away if I'm being too nosey! All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Try trepidanxious! :rotfl:
If the first drug doesn't work, they'd probably either change the dose or try a different one. That happened to me.
Also, expect some weird feelings initially....physical ones, I mean. (How anyone likes to take them recreationally is beyond me!)
They will wear off, though.
It's like anything.... you have to give these things time, and remember, you have a whole lot of coping strategies in place that you've built up over years, and they can take a bit of unravelling.(I just lurve spiders!)

The fact that it's inherited is a pain, because a house full of ADHD people is no fun to live in....... no wonder such families are dysfunctional, as well I know.(I just lurve spiders!)

One of ERs children got sectioned today. They've gone through a lot lately so it's no great surprise, but it's sad all the same. Wondering how much of a genetic element there is there, and how much is/was environmental factors. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
