I've always found Halifax to be the most generous.

I found Tesco to give a low limit to start with and then increase it.

7,5K, 9K, 10K, gosh, that's high! Mine highest ever is 3.6K. I guess it's also to do with earning? 7.5K and higher limits owners, what is your wage, if you don't mind me asking?

i have found Lloyds to be variable..
they gave me £5k recently, but then agreed to up it to £20k..
agreed that Tesco start low.. i haven't found them to increase either, but in fairness don't channel much spending through them.
i've found Halifax to be very cautious Suzie, do you bank with them? and use them as your main bank account?

No, I don't bank with them, but I have had credit cards with them for over 20 years, so perhaps that is why.

Santander who I do bank with only gave me limits of £3k for each of their 0% cards last year, but Halifax gave me a limit of £9k at the same time.

I once had a £18k limit with Halifax (around 10 years ago).

Barclaycard gave me £18k on 0% BT when Tesco would only offer £5k.

I have earned over £100k for the last four years with no debts or any marks of note on my credit file, yet the highest limit card I can persuade HSBC to give me is £2,500. It's an utter pain having to pay for high value goods with cash instead of card (first world problems).

Racking up lots of debt and paying it off gets you higher limits than a high income and having no debt on file.

Interesting perspective. Now I understand why the rich would always pay in cash.
