Highest credit limit?

MBNA (now closed) gave me my highest limit, but it built up over a few years. I applied for a Nationwide current account almost a year ago and was offered a credit card with a £7.5k limit at the same time. They said they could offer it without another credit check if I signed up then, so I did. I'm not sure if that would still work though.0

Barclays and lloyds gave me the highest limits, around 8k but on BT cards. I suppose you could fill up other cards then try them for a BT.Nothing to see here, move along.0

Lloyds gave me the highest a number of years back - £4K with no credit history to speak of (just an overdraft I never used) and a lower than average income. I had an ISA with them at that time though and had my current account through them for three years. I was expecting way less though...
In fact, Nationwide and John Lewis gave me lower initial limits two and three years later despite a longer credit history and better income.0 -
Barclaycard for me, they gave me £12.5K starting limit on a balance transfer platinum card - I already held the Cashback Amex/Visa with them for a year.
After that, Virgin Money - £7K starting limit0 -
Barclaycard (£9k), MBNA (£7.5k) and Creation (£10k) have all given me good limits when opening new relationships with them.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0

TSB and barclaycard for me. The former - 10k and 12k for me and wifey. Avg salaries - good credit history.0

MBNA always highest for me, £10k starting limit but then I have a long history with them. One of mine with them is now £15k. I also find Barclaycard offer good limits. Generally though most lenders increase your limit over time assuming you keep within your credit limit and never miss or late with minimum payments. This tends to be after 6 months but can vary. Hope this helps.0

Own Bank, MBNA, Barclaycard, and perhaps RBS group, ime and that of fellow stoozers, would be your best starting points.
Post Office, Clydesdale/Yorkshire Banks, Nationwide, Co-op Bank etc. have tended to be much tighter.0 -

I closed a couple of redundant cards and am left with Barclaycard and Virgin Money. Since that the limits have gone up to both at around £25,000.Total Credit Used...=........£9,000 / £52,700
Mortgage..............=........£138,000 , 20 Years left.
:starmod:CC cashback for this year..=........£112.88 £205.81 banked in 2015
