    No, because the laptop you returned would then be secondhand and not saleable as a new product. There is no automatic right to return anything unless it is faulty |(i.e. not just because you changed your mind), so you must rely on the retailer's own returns policy. And anything involving software is generally excluded for obvious reasons.
    You expect the supplier to not only make a loss on the resale,but also pay the postage. Who do you think ultimately ends up making up those losses, if not the other customers?
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    That bit in bold may be applicable in some circumstances, but as the OP specifically enquired about buying online, that simply is not true in his situation.
