TSB Monthly Saver

I recently signed up for the TSB Classic Plus account and a Monthly Saver account and believe I've made a bit of a mess up with the Saver account.
When I got my security code for the current account I added money into it and tried to set up a standing order to my new Monthly Saver only to realise that it wasn't showing up under [One of your accounts] tabs.
I believe I tried to set up a standing order using the [Company or person] tab but I'm pretty sure the site just threw an error in my face or it just didn't go through.
Getting confused I ended up just transferring £250 under the [Make a Payment] option from my current account straight into the Monthly Saver account.
Currently my Monthly Saver account is showing £250 but I realised that you MUST make payments by standing order only, which I didn't do.
I set up a standing order to be paid next month and this time it shows up on my current account.
How will this affect the my account? Will I still get interest at the end of the 12 months?

Try calling them - you might get the lovely Geordie guy I spoke to who was able to answer my questions0

I don't have a land line and there isn't any branch local to me. It would probably cost a fortune on my mobile.
I'll have to see if I can use the phone at work.0 -
Hi, check out " say no to 0870.com ", you may be able to find an alternative number that's included in your mobile minutes.
Hope you manage to straighten this outDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

IIRC, when you first set up this account, it offers you the option of transferring in an initial payment, which would suggest a precedent against requiring a S/O for all payments. (Though I may be thinking of the Lloyds / Halifax / BOS versions, rather than TSB specifically.)
Has frustrated me for a while with all these related accounts that setting up a standing order to "one of your accounts" never seems to include regular savers, which are the accounts you are most likely to want to use this for. However, the most recent one I set up on BOS or Halifax did offer it in the list.0 -
Strangely enough I made a mess of mine when I first opened it and actually sent the £250 directly into the monthly saver from Natwest rather than into my TSB current account.
Having realised my error I spoke to the branch manager who queried this with head office who said it would be OK for the first payment.
However, I don't have this in writing and and am still 5 months from finding out for sure when the interest finally pays!!0 -

The only reason for calls to ordinary 01, 02 and 03 numbers 'costing a fortune' is being on an unsuitable tariff for your pattern of usage. Most people call these numbers as part of an all-inclusive monthly allowance, even on pay-as-you-go.
In the case of your bank, this is somewhat moot as they now use freephone 0800 numbers.0 -
I made a mistake with one of my payments and accidently transferred £250 from an external bank account. After a week or so the money was returned to the original bank account and I received a letter to say what they had done.
So if they are not happy they will send it back. It wasn't my first payment though.
