New Fence should we help pay?

Someone has just moved into the house at the end of our back garden- our back gardens meet. Our new neighbour wants to replace the perfectly functional fence with new 2m panels because he has a Doberman dog. My husband feels that we should offer to pay something towards the new fence since it's 'ours' ...... What do you…

there should be some clarity, are you talking about replacing the whole fence or just the panels?

further down the line, you'll have to declare that he 'maintained' your fence at his cost, and legally he may be able to get ownership of the fence transferred to him.

The only way to be sure is for him to erect a new, higher fence inside his boundary
