there is 1 letterbox, but 2 doorbells , and to get into the hallway, the courier would have to have rung 1 of the doorbells. I was not 'happy' to go there, I was scared,I saw the couple approaching the building, gave them my telephone number and bolted for my car., which was 5 steps away, and I checked up and down the street for any signs of him. They asked him and called me back I would have never been stupid enough to ring his doorbell. I hate it that people twist things and hang people out to dry on this forum and try to discredit people as if we are in an actual court of law. I asked for practical advice, not judgement .
Of course I want the parcel back on the phone. , it is actually mine. Yes, it went to my old address but the courier should never have given it to him as I left no instructions to leave it with him.

You asked the courier to deliver it to the stated address. They did this. How do you know they rang the wrong doorbell? It's quite possible the neighbour heard the door and answered irrespective of which bell was rung.

Practical advice - take it on the chin, you messed up and trying to blame other people does not change that fact. And if you're still in fear of eviction, stop spending and start saving - a rent deposit will be far more useful than some make up.

You asked for advice based on incorrect information. There is absolutely no point doing that. It sound awful but the only person who has 'twisted' anything is you. You said he signed for it, which gradually turned into 'no one else has it' which turned into 'he probably has it' and 'he's the only shady character in the posh area so definitely has it'

He assaulted me, stalked and harrassed me for 2 years, and stole my mail !!!!! That is fact, this is not speculation! I had a disability hate crime officer who told me he was being charged with another violent offence!I'm not against anyone who is mentally ill.. I am against violent predators.

I am not saying anything he did was acceptable.

However, calling him scruffy, smelly, dishevelled and homeless looking and therefore assuming he has your parcel is unacceptable as you know he has a mental health issue and this is unrelated to your stalking claim. Its only making you look bad. There is nothing 'good' about making assumptions based on someones appearance, especially when you know he has a mental health issue

You are assuming he has done something based on a mistake you have made. If you had said 'he may have it as he has previously taken my mail and I have a crime reference number for this.' no problem.

Saying he took it because he's the only scruffy smelly person in the posh area isn't acceptable and its irrelevant. (Text removed by MSE Forum Team) There are plenty of fancy smart looking thieves.

You went there to visit your old flat. You would have went to their doorbell and rang to visit them had they not coincidentally arrived in their taxi with suitcases off holiday as you arrived.

All I said was you could have quite easily ran into him so whilst I am sure what you suffered was awful, it did not stop you returning to your old flat as had they not been there, you would have went to the flat to try and retrieve your parcel. I also suggest double checking your addresses to ensure you never have to return to the place you claim you were stalked and harassed in.
