I was pointing out that he is a danger to me, and I can't go to his door and and try and get it back.Plus, he had a habit of taking all my mail when I lived there, so I know he is a criminal. His most likely gameplan is to try and get to me via it. He has told the couple who live in my old flat today that he didn't have it and they called me to tell me.He has the most severe form of OCD hoarding I've ever come accross, he hoards rubbish, so it's more than likely he has it. My friend went to all the neighbours and no one else has it.it's a very posh ara and I know all the neighbours nearby anyway. They remembered me when my friend asked. I have a history with him of theft/harassment/stalking./violence. He was obsessed with me and stopped at nothing to hurt me, so considering his shady character, it is likely he has it.Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE

Right you've got a whole lotta hearsay and no proof of anything right now.
As I asked earlier, what proof do you have that he signed for it? Use that proof, take it to the police and ask them to accompany you to retrieve your property. They may say no, if it's a quiet day they may help you out. If you have crime ref numbers of the harassment that may help also to persuade them to help you.
Then I suggest you double triple check that this address isn't on any other sites as clearly you find it dangerous to return. Don't put yourself in this position again.0 -

Whilst I was writing you added a tonne more irrelevant hearsay.
No one cares he's a hoarder. No one cares it's a posh area and he's the only dodgy character, in your opinion. No one cares he's shady.
What proof do you have? Everyone else is posh so he's probably got it. Everyone else says they haven't so he definitely has. He stalked me so he probably has it. He's a hoarder so is hoarding it.
Seriously all of that is useless. What proof do you have? You have went from him signing for it to 'my friend asked everyone else and no one else does'0 -
Who was the carrier?
what sort of value of lost goods?0 -
I don't know who the courier was, The email said completed at the address so forgive me if I am speculating. I'll find out tomorrow and it was for 125 quid.
You're right, I don't have absolute proof, but I will find out hopefully. As I said, the couple who live in my flat were getting out of a taxi with suitcases so I know they don't have it.Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE

Does the neighbour who you believe may have taken the item live at the same postal address as the one you gave the retailer? (I ask because of what you said about a shared hallway.)0 -
yes he does.. there's only the flat I lived at, and his, same address, but without ground floor bit of the address.. He is the only one who shares a hallway and the front door bell. The email I received said that the delivery was completed at that address. It doesn't say on the email who the courier is or tracking info. . I'm hoping he will have signed for it and it will be proof that he received it.It's been 5 years since I lived there, so I don't know if the police will still have notes about the times he stole my post.. I'm thinking no, as it's been so long. I was assigned to a disability hate crimes officer. I could always try and contact her, if he has signed for it.Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE

So does that mean he and you used to share a letterbox?
If there is only one shared address then I think you should wait to see what evidence the retailer/courier provide to show the item was delivered to the correct address before deciding what to do next.0 -
yes, there's only 1 letterboxMany thanks to all who contribute on MSE

In this case you have no recourse against the seller or the courier. they have delivered to the correct address. Items are delivered to addresses, not people.
You need to get proof that the man in question has it, or signed for it and then go from there. You either get someone to go get it yourself or you ask the police on the basis of your precious history. However as this is a civil matter (as the item was delivered to his address) you may find it difficult to get them to do anything.
You started this post with extremely inaccurate information based on speculation with no proof and all of the above answers are based on that. You said he had signed for it, and you don't have anything to prove that.
You're no doubt going to find this quite difficult. You state you had a terrible time with this man which I have sympathy with, but you were quite happy to return to his/your old address to get your parcel so you cant be that afraid as you could have ran into him very easily. You need to make sure your are having things posted to your address to avoid this. As I said items are posted to addresses, not names, and your parcel has went to the correct address.0
