Well I wanted a new phone for my O2 Sim Card so it was a good deal for me, they are available from orange for £149.99 too but on Orange PAYG.
I didnt fancy an orange one as I hate branding, especially when you have a different sim card in0 -

I said that further up, can you remove the orange software too?0 -
They've been this price on the Orange site for a while now.
Also expect the price to continually reduce over the next few weeks as the newer 6230i version is imminent.0 -

Depends what you want to remove? Cheap 'n' cheerful non-flash method:
Wallpaper/screen saver can be easily removed.
WAP settings can be changed manually.
Default right menu can be changed manually.
Start-up and Shut-down logos can be removed with a cable and MobiMB (ok, this bit will cost but if you know someone with them already...
)
That's most of it, if the orange logo on the back facia annoys you it can be scratched off or covered. Or just replace it with a new facia.0 -
Anyway, who sent it off topic, is £149.99 a good price for the phone, regardless of how it is bought0
