    Also. use Chrome coz they have built in poo up blocker.

    Urgh! I definitely don't want any crapware on my machine!

    Most browsers have built in poP up blockers.
    And you could have put all 3 of your points in one post

    Didn't it block that poo?

    Next time you're flying the Jolly Roger try tapping the alt-ctrl-del mentioned above although I suppose the hook may make it a bit difficult.

    Malwarebytes didn't solve it.

    I googled and found this solution that worked.

    Open 'Settings' by clicking on the 3 horizontal bars top right just below the X to close a window. 'Settings' is towards the bottom of the dialogue box that opens.

    Scroll down and click on 'Show advanced settings'.

    Scroll down again and select 'Reset Settings'. This restores the default browser settings and hopefully gets rid of that irritating hijack.
