I dont understand why there would be no enamel on the top?
The instructions do say to additionaly dry when it comes out of a dishwasher.
When you say they refuse to help you because you are based in France-are we talking about carriage costs here?
    Which one is it?

I had a set of these for years and part of the charm is the odd enamel free mark, apparently it's all down to the way the coat the pots.
  • Good afternoon,

I quote the instructions from the manual:

All pans with integral cast iron, phenolic handles or stainless steel knobs can be washed in the dishwasher. However, constant dishwashing may lead to some dulling of the enamel finish. This is not harmful and will not impair performance. When using the dishwasher always allow the cycle to finish before opening the door. This will ensure the pans are dried thoroughly. Pans with metal handles can be washed in the dishwasher, but this greatly reduces the development of a patina; as a result, grills and skillets will require oiling for a longer period. Pans with wooden handles are not dishwasher-safe.

I did nothing wrong, but I have a rusty pot now.

Poppie68: No, the rust did not come fully off, maybe a little but not all. The surface below looks different than the rest.

My problem is here: I followed the manual and I ended up with rust. This is not my fault. If this is a known problem, why do they not write something about this in the manual?

I don't further understand why does the English custom service refuse to help me although I bought it in England with Amazon.co.uk?
Is there really a law for this that suddenly my location is relevant?

I'm assuiming the OP is talking about the top outer rim of the pot which sometimes can be exposed cast iron.

OP, if the rust doesn't come off using a nylon kitchen scourer then try with it with one of those metal, pot scourers, like the Aquapur ones from Lidl or these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JSMJW0A/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=569136327&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B008FYVB42&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=09WNM5PK7XJ9TW0T6YPV
  • Your contract is with Amazon, not Le Creuset.

As already suggested, just return to Amazon.

The Le Crueset site does say they do not supply goods to outside UK so presumably cannot deal with returns from outside UK

They also state they cannot accept refunds or exchanges of goods bought online in our retail stores.

As you bought from Amazon you bought from a retail store so should be contacting Amazon.
