Good morning,
I don't want to make this a weekly update, I should make more of an effort. Trouble is, there's not much to write home about.
Last week was the same as most of my weeks go. Gym, work, friends and family. Thankfully it didn't cost me too much. I get paid this week and I look forward to allocating some dough out to the various categories.
I've a work night out this Friday, which could potentially catch me on out costs, although they tend to pay for most things. Aside from that, I have zero plans.
I promise to make more effort.0 -
Hi, been reading and running recently but glad to hear you've been getting good job interviews and had a nice holiday etc.
I know you don't have loads of spare time but you do have some and it might be worth revisiting the surveys to earn a little extra.
Prolific is still a good earner though there are less opportunities than there used to be as it's become so popular.
If you shop at Sainsburys - or could - then do consider e-rewards surveys as they pay in Sainsburys nectar points and you can redeem at 1000 points (£5). I can usually get at least that in 3-4 days without slaving away. It's supposed to be by invite only but if you have a nectar card then you are 'invited' https://www.nectar.com/brands/e-rewards. Most surveys give between 100-300 points, they always credit and you get 10 points if you dq. I tend to do them in ad breaks if I'm watching tv etc. Nectar points can also be spent at Argos and other places too.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Love it. Sound advice Joey, thank you.
I used to do surveys a couple of years ago but fell away once I got rid of my debt. A really good shout and very thoughtful thank you. I'll dive deeper tonight.
That is, once I've finished helping my mum with her gardening.0 -
Good morning,
I feel like I've not stopped of late. I've only turned the TV on if there's footie on and I'm having dinner.
Tonight may be different to be fair as I plan on giving the flat a once over. I've a works day/night out on Friday, so I know that Saturday will be a write off and I don't want to cram housework into a Sunday, so I'll make a start tonight. How's that for forward thinking?
I got word back that I didn't get the job in Southampton I applied for, but I've another company in London looking to arrange a skype interview.
I've had a few good sales in work so I hope my bosses sit up and pay attention. I won't hold my breath though.0 -
Good morning,
Today is Friday and our work have organised a work night out. All off us. Like 100 of us. So I think we get a few free drinks, perhaps some food and entertainment at a local brewery. I'll be sensible and get the last train home.
I've no plans this weekend. Zero. But I'm sure I'll find something to get up to - at little to no cost. I'll take some time to fire my CV off to some places too, so I'll aim for a productive weekend.
Have a nice weekend everyone0 -
On Monday, I learned my gran was being taken on a trip to Oban with her sister for a few days. This in turn meant that her weekly trip on a Tuesday into Glasgow with my Mum was cancelled, leaving my mum 'lost' for what to do. So I managed to get yesterday off to take her into Glasgow and go a wander around the shops and a light lunch in the sunshine. It was lovely.
Today is back to normality (gym and work). Lots of emails to catch up on so I must get on with it.
I received a call to say that my car is due a service and it would cost £270. I said I'd see if I can get it cheaper elsewhere and my friend can do it for £160. Still...quite steep.0 -
It was date night last night with my lovely gran. We enjoyed some lovely duck and veg then had some sticky toffee pudding afterwards. Her eyesight is getting worse and I can tell it's really frustrating her. She uses a magnifying glass to see the instructions on most things, which is probably her biggest annoyance. With it getting worse, she fears she'll lose her independence at some point. Completely understandable.
Tonight I'm working. So I'll do a 14 hour shift, but I'm unfortunately not paid hourly.
Tomorrow, I have a real date! It's a girl from work who started a few months ago so we're going for a few drinks and a meal. I'm not sure what to think at this stage to be honest, I'll update you all on Monday.0 -
Speky, I really hope that my DS grows up caring as much about his family as you do. How lovely of you to think of your mum like that - and you're always thinking of your gran too.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

CCL - When I was younger, I didn't really appreciate the importance of family and it was definitely something I took for granted. I have a small family and when some of the elders died, I noticed the effect it had on others and an obligation to make more of an effort. Particularly once I had some independence with a car. It's something that definitely came with time.
So, the weekend has gone and so as date night. Which went well. She seems to really like me, to the point where she's asking to see each other again ASAP. While this is nice, for me, it's a bit overwhelming and showing signs of being clingy and needy - which is something I can't really deal with well. So I've a lot to think about it and I've not spoken to anyone about it either yet. I'm hoping that writing it down might help.
Anyway. It's Monday morning and I best get stuck into work. Check back soon.0 -
I've officially got the cold, from a (different) colleague, which meant no football last night and the gym this morning wasn't very productive. Tonight, should the weather allow, I'll do some gardening at my mums for a bit. Chilli for dinner.
The girl from work phoned me last night with work related things. Once the work chat finished, the conversation went on to the dinner I was making and she wants to take me to a pizza place next week. Few things;
1. She's keen (we already know this). Perhaps too keen.
2. Isn't it the man's job to take the other person out?
3. If the above is true, I can't afford it!!
Anyway, I'm away for a coffee.0
