I can. It's because your credit score is fictional and not seen by anyone.

Lenders only look at the data on your files, not the score. They will have considered your income, debts, limits, payment history, electoral roll, financial associates and many other things. Everything except your credit score.

If you send me £100 plus 3 packs of ginger biscuits I can get you a guaranteed acceptance.

The score is not seen by anyone irrespective of what they say is only seen by you.

Shed some light on your current personal financial circumstances. This has more bearing than your credit score as far as lenders are concerned.
  • Well my current and personal finances are good homeowner with mortgage paid one credit card with Lloyds no late payments, earning approximately £30000 pa Santander current account and isa only thing is Santander account is only 11 months old but with Lloyds for years before that

What do your credit files show? Are there any negatives on there, or financial associates?

Are you on the electoral roll?

How do you use your credit card? Min payments? What's the balance and limit?

You should get your credit score from Noddle.co.uk.
Its free, provides your credit report monthly and is only a soft search.

I got the same credit card from Noddle, and also have a very good credit report, however my credit limit was lower than I was expecting, and the headline APR rate was actually the higher rate of 22.9% instead of 19.9%.
Not entirely sure why, but that's the way life works.
Current Debt (excluding mortgage) - £7,020
    Reducing £450/ month.

The OP shouldn't be looking to get a credit score from anyone.

And while it's good practice to check all three files, if the lender is using Experian, that's the one to start with, not Noddle.

Bank of Ireland (who back the AA card) are known for being 'fussy' when it comes to accepting applicants and it may just be a case of you don't fit their profile, regardless of your credit history being excellent, salary etc.

I would apply elsewhere and if you get rejected again, then perhaps you need to take a closer look at all 3 credit agency reports and see if there are any nasties lurking causing you problems.

Halifax offer 23 months no fee 0% BT:

It's also worth reading this thread regarding the AA card:

Why the credit score from Noddle ?

There are 2 other credit ref agencies and not everyone uses Noddle.

The score means nothing, the credit history is important and what lenders see.

Noddle tells my credit score is very poor.

But...Noddle does not know that I am a home owner, Noddle does not know how much I earn, Noddle doesn't know how much I have in savings, Noddle knows very little.

I have no defaults, no arrears and certainly nothing worse and I will still get approved for credit. I've got 5 credit cards (all at 0%) and 2 personal loans all as my signature states at very low rates of interest. I could pay the lot off tomorrow but I earn more money stoozing into regular saver accounts so I have no intention to.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
