Since off-topic, why respond at all?

If to correct an error, why not do so helpfully/constructively?

It's the bare contradiction that elicits negative responses (trying to be diplomatic here. If I'm wasting my time, I'll stop).

This is getting really, really tiring...
Don't worry, I'll let you on your ego trip from now on.

I've always viewed GM's comments as an education in diplomacy, politeness, careful thought and bl**dy good sense.

If he gets an ego boost from his usefulness, it's the most humble sense of hubris I've probably ever read. No doubt he'll blush profusely at reading this.

I did indeed try to be diplomatic & engage with Miss S on the subject of the responses her posts elicit.

She has useful knowledge but, sadly, poor communication skills. And then she wonders why others make "deliberate attempts to shoot my comments down."

Enough. Back to my ego trip.
