BT Infinity with BT Sport Lite contract length increase!

This is my first post so here goes: took out 12 month contract with BT April 2015 which included B T Sport free of charge. Approx 5 months later they started charging me! I rang to complain and they refunded the charge. They then said they could put me on Sport Lite at no extra charge after my ranting about new charges. When I first took out 12month contract they said to contact them around 23th April 2016 as the price was going up to £23 a month. This I did this morning only to be told that as I had changed my contract to sport light my contract has been increased by an additional 6 months! Surely they can't do this. Anyone else had this happen to them?

It's pretty typical that if you change a contract you'll get put on a new minimum term. They should have made that clear at the time and will no doubt claim they did. Always ask if you change anything.

It's a long thread I'm afraid but you are not alone. You should be able to get BT to sort it out, If not OFCOM will be on your side.

OFCOM do not deal with individual issues. You may as well say that President Obama will be on her side because she'll get preciously the same amount of practical help from either.

Ofcom did publish a how to complain when the BT Sport first became chargeable .
Doubt if it still applies as it was 8 months ago .

OP as always should use their BT members help pages and the contact us .
