thanks for that information about the liability - some good information to have
That is why some workmen will tell you what materials they need/what to buy but won't provide the goods themselves.
I edited my above post btw to cover the payment due.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
thanks for the information.
the entire work comes to about 20k and we have paid 19k - with 1k to pay after him completing the snagging list (which this is on)0 -

The sink next to the bath remains hot all the time - water coming out at same speed. May just attach a hose pipe to fill the bath!
Is Cold water mixing in with the Hot tap feeding the bath ? :beer:There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:WARNING ! May go silent for unfriendly repliesPlease excuse me Spell it MOST times

Have you got one of these magic anti scald mixer taps ?0
-
no its not one of the anti scald ones - should just be letting through what's coming to it.0

My son has the same problem in the house he has moved into.
The bath has to be filled slowly or the water is not hot enough for his young son's bath, never mind an adult's bath.
Sink in the bathroom, right next to the bath, has hot water and kitchen has hot water.0 -
Ask for the mixer tap to be replaced with two individual taps, they are never a good idea with a combi boiler.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

As I already said the bath runs off 22mm pipe, the sinks run off 15mm so the difference is huge when it comes to flow rate. Regulate the flow at the tap.My son has the same problem in the house he has moved into.

If you want to test the mixer to see if it's faulty and mixing hot and cold simply put it on cold only, open it up fully and if the boiler kicks in then the hot is mixing with the cold. This is highly unlikely but it I can almost guarantee you there is nothing wrong with the boiler or the plumbing, they just don't meet peoples expectations when it comes to bath water.
Coming from a cylinder where it's already pre heated can take some getting used too.
What boiler is it anyway?0 -
Not enough water pressure at the bath? Could be kink in a flexible connecting pipe, could be too small a pipe.
Son had similar in a new build and it was cured by putting in a pump which boosted the hot water pressure for all the house.0
