That little cash-only job on the side.Free the dunston one next time too.0 -
So lets get this straight, I'm going to work to pay my taxes so people in receipt of Benefits can be given a cash bonus to save. I'm disgusted, please remind me why I bothered to vote Conservative. This sounds like one of the stupid schemes Labour would have come up with.0

dont worry Osborne will shake you down elsewhere for more as he and the other lot have fun."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0

This scheme is available to working people it isn't only non workers who claim benefits.0 -
It sounds quite similar to the forthcoming new scheme that Mr Osborne abolished in June 2010.
A flagship savings plan proposed by Labour has been scrapped by the new coalition government.
The Saving Gateway, planned to start in July, was aimed at encouraging the poorest to save.
The previous chancellor had pledged to add 50 pence to every £1 saved in the programme, which was designed for up to eight million people on benefits and tax credits.
But in his Budget speech, George Osborne said it was "not affordable".

If it's to be described in glowing terms in the next few days, it might be interesting to hear why it had to be delayed by 6 years.0 -

So that he (albeit with a few benign tweeks) can say that because of his stewardship and the Gov't taking those 'tough decisions' - it is affordable now!
Nice one Georgieboy,:rotfl::T
Now tell us how you found the savings/surplus and show us the money...0 -
The people who will qualify for this scheme are unlikely to be in a position to save much at all, so there are not going to be many large bonuses awarded.
Waste of time.0 -

That's what I mean by cut the benefits - too many people working bare minimum just to qualify for benefits. Offer them more hours and they turn it downLeft is never right but I always am.0 -
Benefits should be a safety net offering breadline survival, nothing more or what incentive is there to better ones selfLeft is never right but I always am.0

Watch your back door with George Osborne, jiggery pokery will follow.0
