  • Still here, still going.
Spent £1.10 yesterday but it was something I had forgotten to get in Aldi so all covered. Kids seemed to buy far too many bus tickets over the weekend - DS 'thought it would be sensible to have a couple spare'. A bit annoying but I think he was trying to be helpful...only got 35p left in that pot but can top it up from elsewhere.

YNAB is still balancing - age of money up to 19 days!!! Woohoo!!!

No plans for this week. Nothing on the the horizon either. Feeling a bit flat. Need live music, meals out etc. Bloody covid.

Brilliant work keep going. You’re in a difficult position but working through, inspiring thanks for sharing.
  • Thank you. I read your diary daily - I actually feel a bit like I have been visited by MSE royalty 🤣. You are doing a brilliant job, I look forward to seeing you succeed.

Today has been a very tricky one work wise. Seriously, the kind of day when you question all your choices.
I left work thinking !!!!!! it, I'll order a takeaway. Did not do it! DH made me comfort food (fish fingers, chips and beans). It was on the meal plan for today! Clearly I am psychic and knew when I would really need it 🤣

Money stuff ticking along nicely. I filled the car on the 1st October and still have quarter of a tank. Really hoping I can keep to under £100 for the month on fuel. One more week of work then a week off so it should be possible.

Nothing planned for half term yet. Have no energy or motivation to do anything. Think I'll book a couple of national trust places and try to get some nice walks in. May just take to my bed and put the duvet over my head.

  • Just playing around with some numbers (not counting student loan and family 2 as I don't think either will ever be paid) we were £12,350 in debt. It is a !!!!!! terrifying amount. I am really shocked. Really, really shocked.
Current total stands at £10,717.41. We have paid off £1632.59 over quite a long period of time. Really need to knuckle down. 13% paid off, 87% left to go.

@mothsinmywallet_2 royalty? More like MSE biggest **** lol. I'll let you fill that in as you don't seem to have an aversion to expletives either. 😉
  • I definitely do not have an aversion to expletives...

Especially this morning when the interest was added to my credit card statement. It's so depressing when the amount goes back up.

Title of your diary is brilliant lol.

    Get it on 0%.
  • I can't unfortunately - they won't stop the interest and I can't get another card.

  • Aldi shopping came to a pleasing £72.72 today. We have decided that DH will do two shops a month from his PIP and I will do any others. It was 3 this month and they came in at less than £240 including top up shops. I am so pleased with that, it's a huge improvement. I will now budget £80 for each one, safe in the knowledge that will be enough.

I am making a cake for a friend's child's birthday. Spent £11.75 on icing which she has offered to pay me for but I've said no, it's a present (complex and compelling reasons for this). Will have lots left over for future projects so all good. Looking forward to playing with icing all afternoon!

Haircut with DD in a minute. I budget for hers every 6-8 weeks and mine every 12-16 weeks. About £10 short in the pot at the moment but can transfer that from my £50 leftover in the grocery budget!

Out tonight to a friend's for her birthday. Need to make some kind of food to take. We're all writing a quiz round so should be a fun cheap night. I don't drink anymore so actually it should be free.
