£10k to put into HTB ISA. best methods?

Hi, I'm new to all this...
I have £10k to put into a Help To Buy ISA, I appreciate that I can only do £1200 first calendar month then £200 per month. I am self employed and cannot guarantee an amount I can pay in every month. So, I'm wondering what is my best option? A Split ISA (And can you transfer from the cash side to the HTB side in one?) Or A straight HTB ISA with the rest of the money in a current account that I can pull from to add to the HTB?
Obviously, my aim is to try and add every month, but I need to make sure I can transfer if I have a short month.
Many thanks in advance.

This one!
Halifax HTB ISA 4% - (Santander also soon to launch one @ 4%)
The rest in one or more current accounts paying 5% - Nationwide FlexDirect, TSB Classic Plus, and their linked regular savers also @ 5%. Then Club Lloyds @ 4%.0 -
Then Club Lloyds @ 4%.0

You have £10k to put in and can only add £200 per month so where is the relevance of a short month coming from? You can use the £10k to cover 50 months worth of payments into the HTB ISA so until 4 years is up the amount you earn that month would appear to be irrelevant or have I misunderstood?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Jimjames, only because this is all my savings, so, understandably I want to add to my savings every month, ideally everything after the initial £1200 would be new, keeping the remaining £8800 where-ever it ends up, but as I can't guarantee that I can do that, I want to be able to dip into that on months where I'm short.
Cheers so far everyone for the responses, I'll have a look into those accounts.0 -
Unless you're getting above 4% on your £10k then surely the priority would be moving that into the HTB ISA even if it means the total remaining dips a bit some months. As the HTB ISA has restricted payments in then I'd prioritise that over anything else.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
