    That's really interesting, thank you.

    I got some B&Q compost that was reduced to 50p because the bag had torn and been taped up so hopefully the seeds will thrive in it. I planted them over the weekend so hopefully will see some signs of germination in a week or so.

    Just to report back that everything has germinated except the peppers. I'm not sure whether it was down to the seeds or me, probably the latter, however everything else is growing well so far.

    Peppers often like consistent heat, well above 20C, to germinate well.

    I think it may have been that temperature varied a bit, thanks for that. I'll leave them be just in case they spring into life but I won't hold much hope.

    Mine are growing only very slowly on the kitchen windowsill at the moment, and they took weeks to germinate at all!

    One of my peppers has popped up, 6 weeks after planting! :D I'm not sure how it'll/they'll fair now so late on but I'll keep my fingers crossed.
