fill in the form and post it, or do it online0

why not leave the V5 in your mums name therefore keeping the amount of registered keepers down
you can still be the owner and insure it in your name0 -
If you transfer it to your name. You will have tax it immediately regardless of how much tax is left on it. Your mum will get a refund of months remaining.0

@glentoran99 what form?
@photome I actually cant seem to find the v5 unfortunately but me being the registered keeper makes the insurance go down.
@rich13348 the roadtax isnt a problem, she pays monthly. I dont mind paying immediately.0 -

If you can't find the V5C, you'll need to send a V62 and £25.

The way to arrange it is to make the transfer on 31st March at at time where you no longer need to use the car and immediately apply for SORN. Then tax it from 1st April.
If you leave it till 1st April to transfer then your mother will have paid tax for April (even though just one day used she won't get April refunded) and you'll need to do the same.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Unfortunately that won't work. If you own the car on 31st March you next to tax it for March.

So he'll need to tax it from 1st April to avoid paying twice for March?0
