Tuesday Windows Updates pain

Options
Lots of updates this Tuesday (7, Vista). A couple of friends thought W10 had been installed - and I've seen a Vista desktop killed ("Updating 3 of 3 at 0%" loop).
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

well Ive just downloaded 50 odd PREVIOUS UPDATES,took two BLLDY hours.........I see the new ones ie this Tues are now listed, but I'll hold off for now.

At first seeing how fast I was getting them thought it might take more like 20hrs plus,so consider my self blessed !

I THINK Ive still kept that blooming KB 3035583 at bay..........wonder what horrors like that lie in the new batch you mention !?

    Good luck !

PS you mention your friends getting stuck at 3 at 3,well mine only ever stayed at 0...then eventually realised I'd got the 50 odd I was aiming for..........I'm on 7 by the way............

Not really relevant considering the OP was taking about issues with Vista.

Windows 7 updated OK for me. Odd it's always the same posters who have Windows horror 'stories'.

W7 had listed AGAIN the terrible trio of 5583, 1917 and 2664

I'm getting sick of hiding them every other month......

Both our 8.1 laptops and two 7 laptops updated ok but the 3rd 7 laptop is playing up again. Spent all day yesterday 'checking for updates' and I gave up in the end. Booted it up this morning and lo and behold there are 18 updates waiting. Bizarre behaviour.

Now it's stuck on 'downloading updates' and has been for several hours. I'm getting seriously peed off with this.

EDIT: Phew, what a relief, it's finally got itself sorted out and finished downloading and updating. Still can't understand why it took so long when all our other machines raced through the process.
