Please help to stop "switch in progress"
On Feb 21 I initiated a switch to NPower, one of the providers who would mean savings according to this site comparison tool (Cheapenergy).
However, I have realised these people are impossible to deal with and have already had communication issues with them. How do I stop the switch in order to choose a different provider??
Thanks for any help!!

Hi Nikiya
All the details are at the link below.
https://customerservices.npower.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/906/~/how-do-i-cancel-my-contract-within-the-14-day-%E2%80%98cooling-off%E2%80%99-period%3F
I hope this helps.0 -
Are those 14 days counted from the moment you request the switch or from the moment they start providing you?? Thanks.0
-
From when you request the switch.0

It also says "seven days after receiving your welcome letter" which I did not receive. I will never regret enough signing up for this rubbish....0

Me too...
Started a gas switch to NPower 18th February through MSE Cheap Energy Club. Quickly realised their online account system was not working properly, and was told it would be 10+ days before their IT could call back. Immediately cancelled the switch ( on 'phone with NPower rep.).
Now stuck in limbo-land. MSE website shows 'Switch in Progress' preventing me choosing an alternative.
My electricity switch to EON set up same day has completed today with no problems.
How long do I have to wait for the MSE CEC website to update?0 -
Same here bognorcodger!!! At least you managed to realise on time what rubbish they are! I thought the 14 days would count from the time they started providing you services (how on earth would you realise beforehand how bad they are??) and now I lost the window :-( sent an email asking if I was still on time considering I never got the welcome letter and got an automated reply., Their "online chat", as I said, has never worked. You can be ages on the telephone without getting through to anybody (and I CANT AFFORD spending time on the tel!!!).... But if your switch to EON has been completed I believe you should not worry anymore about these morons....
I published a separate message to warn people about them.0 -

I have just seen your other post. If you cancel within the cooling off period then you cannot expect to get any cash back.0 -
Well precisely Hengus.... my cooling period is over....unfortunately.... that is why I am asking if I'll still get my switch over money....0

Surely it is 14 days from the date that you enter into the contract. Is there not still a requirement for the supplier to provide written details of the contract and a cancellation option?
Either way why worry. You owe Npower nothing and are therefore surely free to just make another switch if you so wish0
