CCJ + Default = Mortgage issues?

Hello all,

I've posted on here a few times, all about the same thing. And here I am again, sorry!

At the moment I have 4 default accounts and a CCJ attached to me. All legitimate from when I was 18 and suddenly could get things for 'free' (or on credit which you have to pay back, which I didn't!) 3 of the accounts will leave my credit report this year, by October. All are settled so no debt collectors chasing me. One of the accounts was actually only set as default in 2012, all the rest were 2010, but as this was a current account I assume they give you longer to get out of debt. So I am aware that it will leave my credit report in 2018.

The CCJ is for £150, will turn 6 years old in November and I have disputed it since I found out about it. I worked for a company when at Uni for 4 weeks as a temp, I left and they said they'd pay me till the end of the week. Turns out, nearly 6 years later, my manager didn't tell anyone that, so they have been chasing me for £150 I was over paid ever since. I contacted the company many times over the years and they are literally ignoring me. Last email received was 6 months ago saying I will get back to you within a week - and obviously no response.

In November, I will have 1 default account, which will be 4+ years old, for £300, settled at the date of default. And I know the CCJ won't be on my credit file anymore but I know if i'm asked I should still say I had one. This may be pushing my luck but does anyone think that these will cause me problems getting a mortgage? My income is 30k, my partners is 25k, we are looking to buy a house for around £320k and have 100k deposit. I am really paranoid and am just so worried something will stop us being able to buy a house.

From what I can gather, having such a big deposit will help, the fact my partners credit file is perfect will help, and the fact that the default account is settled and 4+ years old will help. But this still doesn't stop me worrying about the CCJ. Even though it's over 6 years old, it still existed.

Am I being crazy or am I right to be cautious about potentially being able to get a mortgage? I know no one will be able to confirm or deny, but any help/stories will be great to help put my mind at ease!

Thanks so much.

    You will be in a much better position than most people who have defaults and are applying for mortgages with your large deposit.

    I don't think you have to declare if you had any previous defaults/CCJs, that only usually applies to declaring if you've ever been bankrupt.

    There is a thread below where people with adverse credit histories discuss their mortgage success/fails;
