If I'd seen that snippet, I would have still been laughing now.
I'm pretty creative when 'justifying' why I 'need' something new, but even I wouldn't have tried that one on the OH. :rotfl:
What a plonker!0 -
No, not joking. I fell about laughing at that one.....
He was like a child in a sweet shop......no self control - just me, me, me. I need this, I need that.......:rotfl:
I know the wife has come in for some stick but I actually thought he as just as bad, very immature.
What kind of a parent goes out with the express purpose of buying warm coats for their children, blow over £400 on unnecessary stuff and come away without the warm coats they said their children needed........0 -

Delete button here I come) and ended up falling asleep on both occasions. I wouldn't have been able to cope with an hour of it. I feel like we've been here before and this is an inferior format. Anyone remember the briilliant Spendaholics with Jay Hunt and Benjamin Fry? I picked up loads of good tips because Jay encouraged substitution - whereas I'd been denying myself loads of things in a state of austerity that I could have been enjoying, albeit frugally.
And why would a six year old have an Ipad for goodness sakeValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

They had an ensuite in their bedroom - not great with two boys and a baby!!"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

Ah, yes, I hadn't thought of the ensuite. I don't really know anyone who has one so 'one bathroom per household' is more normal to me.0 -
What we found unrealistic was swapping the kids ipads for kindle fires. I agree that the kindle fire is more than good enough but if they already have ipads how is buying kindle fires saving money? If the parents had been about to buy tablets for their kids it might have made sense but surely the money has already been spent?!0

They gave the baby a bath in a plastic baby bath in the designer living room. There was a beige ensuite where the mother tried the Aldi shampoo.
Was not keen on this, they both infuriated me, the boys were quite sweet though. They didn't care that their coats were from Primark.
I used to love Spendaholics, it was interesting, I can remember one episode where they stacked hundreds of takeaway coffee cups in someones kitchen to demonstrate how many were bought by one person who was no doubt in debt. They also tried to analyse why the person wanted to spend.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
