Hi
I entered this competition in December to win La Redoute vouchers.
http://www.laredoute.co.uk/christmascompetition.aspx?
It said that by entering you agree to receiving emails but I stupidly assumed it would be easy to unsubscribe.
I have clicked the unsubscribe link many times, emailed and phoned customer services on several occasions and yet nothing is stopping the daily emails.
When I phone they have no record of my 'account' I explain that I have never had an account I just entered a competition but they can find no record of me. They always say they will call back but never do.
When I email them I just get a pre-written standard reply - they don't bother to read what I said - I even sent them a screenshot of all my emails but they still sent the formulaic response.
Has anyone else been getting their daily emails and been successfully able to stop them?
Thanks - i'm tearing my hair out !!!

I have experienced the same - unsubscribed everytime yet still receive them. I have called and emailed and been reassured that my email has been taken off their list but I still get them? I have even tried to block them in gmail but they still get through - I would love who we could contact to complain to.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I also blocked them in gmail but it just means they come straight into the junk folder - it doesn't stop them getting through, Let's hope someone on here can help us!0

You can report them to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the watchdog for data protection.
There's a form to fill in and instructions here.
I had a similar problem with Thomson & Morgan a couple of years ago and the ICO stopped the emails. It'll take a little while for them to do it though, but if lots of people report then the ICO will be more likely to act quickly.0 -
I get a right bee in my bonnet when unsubscribe does not work. I keep on and on and on until I get it resolved.
If I get nowhere I usually threaten to go to the ICO but fortunately I have not had to do that yet.
The latest for me was Emails in German from Etihad  I tried umpteen times to unsubscribe, emailed them, told I am now removed then a few days later another German Email and this went on like this for months. I even had their social media trying to fix it.
I eventually looked on their website under the data protection and privacy sections and low and behold found an email address there that I wrote to. They responded immediately and I now think I have finally been removed.
Another one that really irritates me is when you get an email and it says "click here to unsubscribe" yet there is no link. The best things in life are free.....0 -
