Assuming it has a coa sticker on, and that serial no. is being used by the PC, it is a problem with either product activation, wga, or someone else has stolen the serial no, either way, the only people who are going to sort that out is Microsoft. OEM or not.
Maybe, but if it was me and PC world could not fix it I would ask for a replacement and be done with it.
Customer "My PC will not work can you fix it"
PC world "No you will have to contact someone else"
Customer "But it's only 2 months old and I bought it here"
PC world "But we can't fix it"
Customer " Yes you can let me have a replacement that works"
Customer " and I am not leaving untill you make the one I bought work or give me a replacement"
Customer " Can I speak to the manager"
Customer " What is you head office telephone number"0 -

Hello everyone
Thanks for all the info.
Finally managed to get it done. I was annoyed at having to shell out some cash for something that was effectively a statutory rights problem.
To that end I went back to PC world, explained to the the man (the same man) that the key was invalid and that MS could not help. After a few 'Really's? They couldn't help' and a 'Yes, I phoned PB and guess what, it's your compnay on the end of the phone that keeps cutting me off' , and a half hour wait, I finally have a repaired computer. It would seem that they couldn't be bothered.
Should have guessed PC world were not the best when the guy who served me when I bought the laptop was hopeless! Thanks again for all your help in resolving this problem.0 -

Probably not. However if you made an attempt at basic literacy, you might find they'd take you more seriously.0
