The whoosh is because the OP did notice the satire, and you missed their jokey response to the satire. Essentially, you were replying to someone continuing the satire, and therefore missed the satire.

It's not genetic - it's nurture not nature.
All families have 'pet names', 'pet words' which the children use because the parents do and it becomes a family joke. It's then extended to use outside the family too.
Nothing to do with geriatrics.
Mikey- if you want to escalate this into a full-scale war between neighbours, then yes, I recommend using the hose pipe!
A friend of mine, his girlfriend wears a 'ham-bag' and one time he had to get his 'ham-brake' adjusted in his car... not even kidding...0
