Just wanted to feedback to anyone who is interested how impressed I am so far with the Creation mastercard for travel. The application was quick and easy and I got immediate approval. The PIN and card arrived separately within days.
The phone call to the call centre to activate the card was easy - there was only one set of options to choose from, and then I immediately spoke to a competent native english speaking human.
The website to set up payment options and manage the card is way more straightforward that (say) Amex or MBNA.
And no fees, even for cash withdrawals abroad. Sorted!

I can echo this, bar a slight issue with the application form - I applied late one night on a whim, the application timed out and I thought no more of it until the card turned up about a week later.
Anyway, decent limit, decent APR (which doesn't matter, except for cash advances, which it will be used for abroad).
I binned off the Halifax Clarity after they chopped my limit back to £500 a couple of years ago (after a particularly heavy foreign cash withdrawal couple of months) and never reinstated it - been surviving for cash with the Nationwide FlexPlus debit and the Travelex Supercard, but had been looking for another backup for a while, and here it is!
Haven't used it anywhere yet, mind...0 -
I have a Halifax Clarity with a good limit. Assuming that there is little point having both ?0

Anyone else had issues with the lack of statement notifications on the 1st Creation billing month?
Received my 1st emailed Statement notification this week saying my statement was ready for viewing.
Logged in to check and settle up, only to find 2 statements !
First one had one tiny transaction on (£7.50), with the statement closed off a few days later.
You can guess the rest - 2nd statement has missed payment fees plus interest.
I am proper angry, as they had not notified me of the existence of the 1st statement. The first email notification came in around the time I was expecting (roughly a month after the 1st transaction).
Maybe I should have been more vigilant, but I can only settle bills that I am presented with and customer service weren't very helpful.
I have logged a complaint, which they say they can take 8 weeks to investigate, but it doesn't sound like I stand any chance of getting the fees refunded and more importantly my first ever "default" on my credit file.
I guess you live and learn, but the irony eh? You get a card to save fees on the summer holiday and incur fees with weeks of taking the card.
The message to other new Creation customers, please, please check when the billing anniversary is, as I am convinced that they have engineered the situation to generate fees .
If you are new to Creation - please check !0 -

Backup. Never rely on only one source.
Although I would prefer my backup to be on the Visa network as opposed to Mastercard, in case there is problem with the MC system which messes up any Halifax transaction.0 -

This, or in case a retailer/ATM doesn't take one or the other - I was almost caught out in Ukraine where the ATMs I was trying to use would only take Visa! I now carry the Creation (MC for purchases and cash), Nationwide Select (Visa for purchases), Nationwide FlexPlus debit (Visa for cash withdrawals) and Travelex Supercard (Visa for purchases and cash, though see recent forum posts about the future of this option).
I also carry various other cards, and always at least one Amex - rare as it is, it's not unknown for places in the USA to only take Amex (some restaurants in NYC I believe, possibly other places too).0 -

Interested in how this turns out, as I had a complaint with the Creation Marriott Rewards card a couple of years ago, which they never bothered to respond to - their CS is diabolical, from past experience, but that hasn't stopped me taking out the Everyday card.
As for a default, you won't get one for a single late payment, and the chances are, if you pay it quickly enough, it won't even register as a late payment on your credit report.0 -
Guys, a speedy resolution from Creation this evening. They called to say they have removed the charges and interest from the account and assure me that they have emailed Equifax and Experian to ensure that no default notices are on my record.
So my faith has been restored some what & I will hang on to the account for the summer holiday spending.
I guess anyone's processes can fall apart on occasions and I can only judge them on how they choose to deal with them.
On this occasion, they have righted the wrong and I am pleased with the way they have dealt with it.
Thanks Creation0 -
in response to Stu@rt - how about setting up the automatic repayment (very easily, on the website) to repay either the minimum or full amount each month - this has worked perfectly for me, and was simple to set up. Takes the pressure off you to be alert to an email arriving and having time to sort it out. and good for your credit rating.0

I recently applied for this card and received my PIN today. The PIN for your Expedia Credit Card...
There is no such card listed on Creation's site, Expedia do have a branded card in the US but no mention of a UK one...
Discuss! As a regular Expedia user I like the sound of this.0 -

Mine said exactly the same thing, I got mine about a fortnight ago. I was only waiting for that one, so knew it was for that card, but half expected the PIN not to work when I tried it!0
