Rats missed the map but can you PM me where you got hold of it please Murphy ?
Hi duchy
I got the maps for my holidays from Amazon. They come out at about £3.59-£4.00 each and some of them cover 2 States. I would imagine for some people that they don't go into enough detail, but for us, they are completely adequate.0 -
hurray, its only 5 weeks/35 days to blast off and I'm starting to get REALLY excited :j:j
I've got a Las Vegas question for people (I haven't posted it on the Las Vegas Thread, as most people seem to say Don't Take Children To Vegas !).
We'll be in our room at the Excalibur about 5.00pm local time 01.00am GMT, so the children will be absolutely cream crackered. Depending on how screwed up their body clocks are (& from experience on previous TransAtlantic flights) they will be up about 4.00am local time on our first day :eek:. We'll keep ourselves educated in our room for a bit and then it will be sleep time again.
I'm currently thinking that we'll spend some (a lot ?) of time around the pool, but does anyone have any suggestions of things to do in LV, with a 1 year old and a 4 year old that doesn't need a car ? I don't need loads of things to fill loads of days, just ideas like 'walk up to the Bellagio and watch the fountains' or 'have you seen the gondolas in the Venetian'? etc etc.
The two nights in Vegas at the start of the hols are more for getting over the flight. Comes Friday morning when the car comes and we can start our Touring holiday properly.0 -
When all else fails.......the Orleans has a creche
and a multiscreen cinema and a 90 lane bowling alley. Loads of kids were entranced at watching the lions at MGM. I do agree it isn't a family friendly place as such but with a bit of inventiveness you can make it work. Is it the Bellagio that won 't let kids in at all unless they are guests ?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: the thought of me/we leaving the children in a creche while we go gambling is about as likely as me winning the lottery this weekend (we don't even buy tickets). I know what you mean about inventiveness, but suggestions about the MGM lions are a good'un. Now i'm off to look at the link that Blindman kindly sent :j

Don't forget Shark reef http://www.mandalaybay.com/entertainment/sharkreef.aspx
Murphy, I've been re-reading your thread again whilst planning our own similar trip for later in the year... I think I've got the route sussed, it's just taking the plunge and booking the flights.
Why I don't book pre-arranged holidays I'll never know.. I woke up yeterday thinking about a detour to Page i'd planned the previous night0 -

cheers RTB.
with the link that blindman sent, and the suggestions that you & duchy gave me, I think that I'm now sorted.
Good luck with taking the plunge on booking the flights - did you read my thread about manipulating the American Airlines booking computer ?
For what its worth (for me anyway :rotfl:), once the flights were booked, it made the infilling a lot easier :j.

I'd be really interested to hear what you think of the Excalibur, when you get back, as this is where we've booked a few nights to recover from the flight before we pick up our car and go off exploring on our trip next year!
We have some friends who stayed there a couple of years ago, but picked it because my daughter took one look at the castle and decided that was where she wanted to stay!2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
