As often happens things have changed and our original holidays must change also.
We were originally looking at a long haul holiday, but now we need something a bit closer to home.
I'm having an op on my hip so we need something a bit different to our usual European holiday.
our ideals in June:
any ideas?
we've been to:
Budget approx. £500pp for 7 nights

French Rivera is nice in June, not sure it would be in budget, but you could try!
Alternatively Croatia and the Dalmatian coast is pretty nice, with the budget you will struggle to find all inclusive, but it can be done.
Canaries are 4 hours 15 minutes from the UK on average and you might just get all inclusive for that money.
I would also recommend you book a late deal (8 weeks or less to departure), as you will get a lot more for your money. Maybe send Sunshine Stacey a message on facebook and see what she comes up with - she's great.0 -
thank you, forgot to say traveling from Heathrow or Gatwick.
All inc isn't essential as long as i dont have to walk far to shops or restaurants.0 -

June will be good for deals this year, the Euro Championships and possibly the in/out EU vote will keep people at home, but it also means France is likely to be busy. Somewhere such as Corfu town might meet your requirements or Cascais/Estoril close to Lisbon perhaps?0

Just had a look on First Choice - they only do AI. You can get a fair few under £500, greece, turkey, balearics, canaries.
BARCELO HOTEL PONENT PLAYA in Cala D'or is quite nice, good location. Thomson have a few as well, but you would be best waiting for the late deals, you will have a much larger choice of accomodation, with a smaller price tag!
Might be worth you having a look at some resorts and the hotels in them (distances from beach, shops etc).
Fuerteventura is pretty flat, so might be ideal. Corralejo is really nice, and you can hop on the ferry to Lanzarote for a day trip.0 -
I've heard correlejo is windy in June. I'm a cold person so this did concern me.
How late do you need to wait for a last minute deal?

Fuerteventura is windy, but not cold. But its also usually 25-30 degrees, so the wind is pleasant, not cold, as it is from the Sahara desert. Corralejo will be usually mid twenties, and can get easily into the thirties in June, and the winds are not strong in summer (it is a windy place, being an island in the atlantic, but its not a cold wind!). The cool winds come from the end of February to usually the end of April, so you should be ok - but if you're uncomfortable, then don't go, its a long way to be unhappy!
Late deals are usually from 8 weeks before departure, so if you're looking to go the first week in june, you will need to start looking around the second week of April. The closer to the departure date, the cheaper it will be.0 -
Thanks Dom
If it's not a cold wind that's good.
Last minute booking would work well for us as it means we'll have a better idea of how I'm recovering and not risk having to cancel.
We've never done last minute. I'm the organised sort and booking leave from work and a holiday last minute is alien for me.0 -

No probs!
Last minute is great, I've had discounts of over 50%, so stayed in some pretty plush hotels! Caleta De Fuste is on Fuerte, its about 10 minutes from the airport so probably better if you have mobility issues, its pretty flat as well, but quite quiet. Beach is lovely though!
I've done holidays where I've spoken to a travel agent at 9am and been on a plane for 4pm - not frequently but as long as you get named accomodation, and tell them exactly what you want, they will find it. I'd probably say speak to a travel agent or three at the beginning of April and see what they come back with; they get paid only if you take the holiday, so they will be eager to gain your business. The closer to departure you book, the cheaper it usually is - but there's plenty in your price bracket now, even at all inclusive level so nothing to worry about. I'd book it around 4-6 weeks before-ish, so you still have plenty of time to plan excursions, parking, travel and all the little things you do before going away.
Cyprus and Malta might be a bit more your thing, its just under 4 hours flight, very warm, less wind, and plenty to do. I've only ever been to Malta once and it was a long time ago, but I'm assured they are very nice places. I do know Cyprus can get very hot (over 40 degrees) in the heat of summer so please research it before you go, I'd die in those temps.
If you have somewhere in mind, tripadvisor has forums where you can ask specific questions about a resort or hotel, which I have used in the past (I'm disabled too!) and have found to be very useful. And always check out the reviews of a hotel before you book it - one person's nightmare can be abother's dream, and you always get a couple of people who give bad reviews to cheap hotels (they want 5* luxury on a 2* budget!), so take with a pinch of salt.
Hope this helps a bit, but please let me know if you need any more info or just a rant - I used to travel with work so I've been around a bit!0 -
we have two hotels in mind in Corralejo:
Gran hotel Atlantis Bahia Real currently out of the price bracket, but it has come down since we first looked in Jan.
or
Barcelo Corralejo Bay more in our range, but i've head as its adult only it tends to be senior citizens which some people have said is a problem.
We're young 28 and 30 but not after the party islands, normally distance from town etc is not an issue and if the op goes well I'll be fully fit and able again.
I hadn't thought of Malta, I was put off Cyprus as there appears to be a general terrorism threat.
Just as Turkey has amazing deals I'm not prepared to travel there at the moment.
The Barcelo in Costa Caleta looks nice as well though trip advisor says otherwise.0
