Morning everyone,
Cold and bright here, will need to de-frost my car.
Mum stayed over last night so OH will run her back this morning. It was just my brother and niece yesterday afternoon, they stayed for a couple of hours to have tea and cake with us. They brought their four month old Lab puppy with them which was a good distraction. He was so desperate to play with my dogs but was a bit too boisterous with Tilly at times which scared her and made Rosie bark at him, it was madness for a while. It will be better in the summer when they can all play in the garden together, we did take them for a quick walk but only Tilly stayed off her lead.
:T on your weight loss Jackie x
Hope everyone has a good day, take care x
Edited to say Happy Birthday RR - hope you have a fab day xx0 -

Happy Birthday redruby :bdaycake:
Hester I knew you were busy but had no idea just what you were having to put up with! Please take care xx
Mr tru borrowed a rotavator for the veg patch. We've used one before and we said we'd never use one again, it spread weed seeds everywhere and it was a nightmare to dig the weeds out. He thinks it'll be OK this time, I've told him the resulting weed jungle will be his to sort out
I've got used to the girls laying a total of 0-2 eggs a day, so haven't been using many. They're now laying 3-4 daily and I haven't been using them so I have an egg mountain, lol. I'll test the older ones for freshness, sort them into date order then get into the habit of eating them again.
It's cold and a bit frosty here today, I'm going to wear jeans over my leggings to keep warm while I'm out walking - I'm fed up with my leg seizing up when it gets cold. The little skirts help but aren't quite warm enough.
I've decided to make a couple of ripple blankets to match my new cushion covers, I'll make a start this afternoon.
Mr tru has a couple of days off, I've strongly encouraged him to go through the ridiculous DVD collection and get rid of some. If he doesn't make a start today, I'll take over. When he sees me flinging DVDs into a box marked BIN in large letters with a few DVDs in it, he'll soon start sorting

Good morning everyone :hello:
Happy Birthday redruby :bdaycake:
It's bright and sunny here this morning and it doesn't feel too cold either. I am going to have a shower and get dressed in a minute as my CMHT lady is coming to drag me out of the house. I'm supposed to choose where we are going but my mind is drawing a blank. I don't want to go that is the problem but it will be good for me to get out of the house.
My Mothers Day was lovely, it was also my grand daughters 8th birthday so she came round to see us and get her presents. I bought her a set of Roald Dahl books as she loves reading. I can't believe she's 8, it seems like yesterday she was toddling round.
Hubby and the girls have gone off to work/school ok. Hubby had a bit of a grump all weekend as the local bus company have announced they are changing their route/ service near the end of the month but they haven't published any timetables. Hubby is reliant on the bus for work as are many people here so he is panicking a bit. We may have to buy a car for him but as he hasn't driven one for many years that has it's own worry. Ah well, we will have to wait and see what happens.
I'm making a steak and kidney pie from scratch today for tea with a lot of help from the Hairy Bikers. I also want to make cauliflower cheese to go with it so I will be cooking up a storm this afternoon. I will just have the filling as the pastry is too high in points and carbs for me.
Joining in with the weightloss stories, (well done to JackieO and candlelight, amazing losses) I have lost 6lb this week as well. I always do well on the first week of a diet but then it all goes wrong so I will try a lot harder this time and keep it going. My daughter's wedding will be here before I know it so it is a good incentive.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Good Morning everyone, a sparkling morning down here but very cold. He Who Knows is off walking Cookie and then going to the allotment to plant onion sets and I have cooking and housework to do as we've been away visiting Zebra and both DDs for a few days. Busy times for us lately as DD1 is having some building work done and we've been up and down to her for covering being home when the builders are around as she's teaching all day. He Who Knows is going back up tonight as the windows are being fixed tomorrow where the double glazing units have misted up. Next week sees doors being replaced at the front and back so he'll be up with her for a few days when that happens. I'm waiting on a 'next day' call to go and Zebra sit as DD2 might have to cover a few extra days in the practise too, no being bored these days!
Looking forward to spring this year, for all we've had a warmer winter the last few weeks have been cold enough to make me long for a little warmth and to be able to sit in the garden in the sun to have a cuppa.
Lovely to see REDRUBYs posts about Evie, I'm so very happy for you M'dear that you've now got your little canine friend after Noodles, Evie looks such a sweetie!
Hope all is well in all your worlds and that you are happy, Lyn xxx.0 -
Just a quick post to wish RR a very happy birthday - hope it's filled with love and cake.

Morning (((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
I managed to survive yesterday, no tears just a hollow feeling. My DD1 published a picture of the 4 of them when DS2 was a baby about 2 months old.
Lovely lunch at DD2's we came home and slobbed, just had cheese and crackers for supper.
Bright but frosty morning I have bed linen in the washer, will hang it out, hope it dries, this is my heavy washing week, towels and the full laundry basket, will put the towels in tonight.
Bathroom. loo and our bedroom to clean. I need to potter in the back bedroom, my freezer is coming back hopefully at the weekend. Need to speak to ex and find out when.
I did light the fire last night, it turned very cold as the evening went on, just one lot of coal and wood kept it going. We are very low on both.
Need to go and read the electric meters and sign into my account.
Have a good day...............0 -
Morning all
Bit blowy here! 💨Just doing a bit of gardening tidying up before our weekly ladies cycle/walk/coffee meet up. It's lovely to see the new shoots coming through.
Hope Mothers Day was good for everyone, a sad and painful time for some of us I know. My international boys checked in, and I have a 'voucher' for, and in his words, a non condescending music onto iPod tutorial, which every time I see him he has to help me with!
Leftover risotto and something from freezer for dinner.
Stay warm everyoneCarolbee0 -
I hope you have an awesome day Redruby.:)
Dumpling wherever you choose to go isnt important. The importance is getting out and i'm sure you will gain a great deal of satisfaction for doing it (when you get back). I must admit, the closest i get to going out on my own these days is to Moms and i could quite easily turn into a hermit crab.
Well done on the weight loss stories. I am trying so hard to be good but my kids have bought me enough chocolate to sink a ship and my resistance to chocolate is futile.... Once i start, i just wont stop! I cant give it to the men either with their packed lunches because it looks ungrateful (which i'm not).
It doesnt help that there [STRIKE]are[/STRIKE] were two cream cakes left in the fridge this morning with a sell by date of tomorrow. Guess i wont be eating for the rest of the day then but it wont do my cholesterol level much good.
4 degrees here but beautifully sunny. The sun is doing its best to dazzle me through the blind on my window.
One more peice of news (if you can call it that)....5 years ago last Christmas i wrote a list of things i wanted to fix before i die. Top of my list was...
Repair the fractured relationship i have with my Mom.
Repair the fractured relationship i have with two of my sons.
At the time i wrote it i couldnt see it ever happening but as i am sitting today. Two of those relationships are repaired... Just one to go... I have other goals too but i cant see them happening either but give it time and a bit of patience it would be nice to think things would fall into place just like my fractured relationships with my family has. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
