I suggest you investigate further the cost of sending the thing to Holland for the warranty repair.

Look at couriers as well as ParcelForce/Royal Mail.

I cannot see you have any other realistic option.

Thats the terms of use for the website. I looked at them and there was nothing in there relating to contracts of sale.

With them having offices in germany, they may have no choice about applying at least the german version of soga. Really depends who the contract was with.
