Hello
I have bought a product from the official manufacturer retail website website which was dispacted from the UK. I've had it for less than 2 months and it has since developed a fault. However they want me to return it to the Netherlands for it to be repaired. Does this seem right? As going to be left severly out of pocket. Further to this i read online if they replace the item I will have to pay tax on the item yet again.
Thanks

Have you asked them to cover it?
And its in the EU, so you wont have to pay tax on it again as long as the replacement comes from within the EU0 -
Yes I have asked. They said noThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Who did you buy it from? What was their trading address if the company that you actually have the money to? UK or NL?0

A warranty is not associated with your consumer rights so any conditions they put on it are valid, so if you want to use the warranty you have to follow the terms.
SOGA however is your consumer right so you have protection but you will have to convince them. They also have the right to have the item inspected to prove its not a user fault, the costs associated with this would need to be refunded but again being from NL it's getting complicated.
Being from the EU you shouldn't have had to pay tax on it anyway so can you explain the tax part please. They have their VAT just like the UK but as a consumer it's included in the over all price unless of course you are a business where it's listed separately.0 -

Headquartered in china with a possible office (different name) in Germany.
Can't seem to find anything relating to the conditions of sale though to indicate who the contract is with. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
looks like a chinese company with stock in a UK warehouse, you are lucky they are not asking for it to be returned to China0

Can you write your email in Chinese?
I ask because their T&Cs say:
I doubt they'll consider themselves bound by The Sale of Goods Act either.APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION
