Thank you that is exactly what they are. Strangely enough found a dead frog the other day on my car wheel:eek:

So they are to be encouraged? Is there anything I can do to deter them from coming in the house, bearing in mind I don't know how they are getting in except loft hatch and fan. Maybe they laid eggs last autumn in eves before roof went on.

Not a fan of things flying around the house. Don't want to get more. Do they have a season or are they an all summer thing?

Good for the patio roses though.

After a bit of elite help. Either gardeners or insect experts.

In a new build house and keep getting funny flying insects I have never seen before. They look like greenfly but have big wings suppose the size of a small moth.
Have mature trees around me and also backs of 3 gardens which belong to the old houses to the side which might have compost heaps or might be coming from loft. Last 2 days I have not opened any windows and only get them upstairs which makes me think coming from loft.
Just want to get on top of this small issue as only notice 2 or 3 a day but worried could end up being a big problem.
Would like to open windows more.
Only place could really get in is extractor in bathroom or loft hatch.
    Any ideas greatly received.
Mum lives just down the road but doesn't get them hence wondering if something has been in the loft over the winter or before roofs went on in September.

Highly stressed at the moment. Will buy some deodorising type spray and spray raid up extractor but prefer to know what they are to be prepared for future years.

Husband Hire has now evolved into a 4-tier grading system:

    Basic

    Semi-skilled

    Skilled

    Superior

    Pay commensurate with grade...

Am thinking of developing parallel scheme of Wife Hire aimed at those single gentlemen who might like home baking, or some ironing done, for example.

I often see them around the house, never in large quantities though, have to admit they have never bothered me, very much doubt if you can stop them getting in the house. They do tend to be more spring/summer, can't recall seeing them in winter.

I have to admit I have never really thought about it, they have just always been part of the annual ritual so to speak.

Mine can make a decent cup of cocoa (with almond milk lol), mow the lawn and cook a good Thai green curry, but is not to be trusted with doing a glitch shop or using the washing machine.
