You do know that this is a total myth ?

    Alcohol and antibiotics ?

Perfectly OK and doesn't stop them working at all.

The idea was "invented" by and pushed by doctors when treating "certain infections" (eg. the :T - for which originally they were more likely to be prescribed than anything else) to hopefully reduce certain interactions between men and women that they believed happened more frequently after consuming some of the falling down juice.

It was a concept, removing a perceived contributing factor, designed to give the antibiotics more time in which to do their work before perhaps less permanent "relationships" were resumed.

Sorry quoia not sure if anyone has already said but I have to disagree with you on this while it may be ok with some antibiotics there are definitely some that this isn't the case. The one I was prescribed last year for my chest infection clearly stated no alcohol while taking.

Have only managed a quick google but this article mentions some of the ones alcohol must be avoided with.

    Every cloud and all that....

I have to admit that I now am really sticking to a shopping list and shopping much less...although the down side is that meals have slipped into too much of routine for my liking because I seem to be just picking the same basics each week.

...although tonight we do have a change...I've made a stew!

About 75% of our main shopping comes from Aldi so are also in a bit of a culinary rutt - getting the odd cashback item used to make us think if new inventive ways to include them.
With only 2 of us here mostly and with me eating very little meat it's not worth the effort of making stew or casserole.

Mostly its home made pasta bake or sweet and sour chicken with rice, sausages, frankfurter and beans (as I have a stash of 25p Heinz beans) chicken gougons, pizza and the occasional salad - and now I've said this, yes we do need to be a bit more imaginative ...

In Sainburys? Did you use a manned till or self scan?

I went through self scan first time and the SSS put the ammount it. Next time I went through a manned till and the unhelpful assistant said no - take your MOC to CS. So I just got her to remove it from the bill - I wasn't going to stand at another queue at CS with a sausage roll and MOC to be told no again

On manned tills, used along with the 50p Nairns coupon, great for overage :)
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

    Good afternoon Elite :hello:

Not had much of a chance to catch up yet, though I've made a start :)

Decided to poke my head up from under the duvet  think I've got what Snap had :( a barking cough and muscles that ache :o. All over, didn't know I had muscles in places I ache

Hope you've all had a lovely day, the sun is still shining here :j

Last night my hibernating guest came out of his hogtel :). I didn't see him but noticed the food had gone from the enclosed feeder just after midnight. I quick popped a dish of specialist hedgehog food outside the conservatory door and that had gone this morning too :j

Rather disappointed with my camera though, I thought I would have had a picture of him emerging but the camera had slipped somehow so no 'first' for me boohoo :(. Never mind, camera back outside now waiting for the darkness to descend :)

Snap, what a shock you all must have had when the car slammed into the pub  thankfully no one hurt :)

Off to get a coffee and try to catch up :)
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.
