    knoppix isnt the only cd distro out there...i have got quite a number...mepis,suse + more each have there own benefits if you are serious about these have a look on google for linux live cds and you will be SWARMED!

    There are loads of different types and if you want you can also get a few versions that will fit on your Usb pen drive.

    I was kind to myself the other day and bought a new one, 512mb. My next job is to make it bootable and have a live linux distro on it.

    How sad am I !!!

    yes this is what we got too. I used the contact email and told them the problem and they sent me a return number themselves but we didnt need it in the end as we emailed the retailers head office and complained and it turned out they did have to replace it.
    Western digital were excellent re communication though and werent worried that we couldnt find the receipt as the date of manufacture is printed on the drive somewhere,in non english format.
