You may well be right and visitor passes are not required, but UKPC are well known to pressurise their phony wardens, and use incentives to get the maximum income.

This may even be a local Norris self ticketing scam also, (who also trouser a little cut of the bounty) and a good proportion of victims will just fold after the inevitable rejection of a naive first appeal or a poorly constructed appeal to POPLA.

Follow the good advice on here, and don't pay these known scammers a penny!

Some things you should know about UKPC

UKPC are former clampers who have been involved in quite a number of sordid scams, for example

Hull Trading Standards took them to court on 15 counts of fraud. UKPC won all but one, but only because they had a better lawyer, a Q.C. If I recall correctly

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=63597

They were bested by a Winchester barrister

    http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?377246-UKPC-liable-for-trespass-**SUCCESS**

They were involved in a large scale scam which resulted in a DVLA suspension

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11858473/Parking-firm-UKPC-admits-faking-tickets-to-fine-drivers.html

Then they had another go, this one is still being investigated

    Hi.

I know I'm being a bit daft again, despite reading extensively the Sticky Thread on this subject.
I appealed the parking charge from UKPC on day 28, using the blue BPA text from the thread.

Yesterday received an NTK, basically asking for Driver details to transfer liability.

    Part of the letter states:

"The signage sets out the Terms and Conditions of parking under which a driver is authorised to park, be that by pre-payment of a parking tariff, or by parking only for a maximum period of time, or by adhering to other terms and conditions (such as parked within a marked bay)".

However, as I mentioned before, I was parked in a VP bay (Visitor Parking).

Do I now re-appeal to UKPC, or direct to POPLAR?

    Huge thanks in advance

    Yesterday received an NTK,

No you didn't, you just got the usual holding letter asking for more info.
basically asking for Driver details to transfer liability.

As above, the usual 'something & nothing' delaying tactics letter you would read about on most other UKPC threads.
Do I now re-appeal to UKPC, or direct to POPLA?

You do nothing, as we always advise re UKPC at this well-discussed stage. You just wait for the rejection letter. That isn't a rejection letter nor a NTK. You will not get a NTK, that's the point of playing this game and that's why UKPC desperately want to know who was driving!! :p

  • Hi All.
Just to update you all, UKPC cancelled the charge after we ignored their letter fishing for who was driving.

Huge thanks for your advice :)
